It was crazy seeing the state line for Mahomes and Purdy during and at the end of the game yesterday. Two of the most efficient QBs in the league, and their combined TD/INT stat in yesterday's game:
0 TD Passes, 5 INTs. But...3 Rushing TDs.
Also a combined 366 passing yards, completing a combined 56.9 percent of their passes. They were each the 2nd leading rusher on their team, combining for 66 yards, and like stated above 3 rushing TDs.
Were we really watching 1940s Bears vs. Redskins?

Tru dat
Especially when the refs have never seen any of his Oline hold. Ever

Allen is 12th in yards and has games of 131 yards, 180 yards, 139 yards, 215 yards. He only has one game over 300 yards.
He played a 1 quarter game against Miami
Stop looking at stats like that

Just doesn’t seem like Mahomes is the kind of guy that can elevate average players maybe as much as we thought he was. May not be on the same level in that regard as the Brady, Manning, Brees of the world.

Yeah, this is what Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt were pointing out during the game yesterday. Even when his stat line is bad, he just has a knack for making crucial plays when he needs to. Yesterday it was a 33 yard scramble up the sideline and another one that comes to mind was the third down conversion where he completed a pass while falling to the ground from a tackle.
This absolutely seems true. He makes a lot of plays when it matters.

When you look at all time great QBs like Brady, Montana, Staubach, Elway...you see a real fine line for them vs. other even Pro Bowl type QBs...those guys could be having a complete dogshit game for 3 Quarters, then somehow in the 4th and on the final drive, they can't be stopped.

I was told that every time he throws a pick the refs call a penalty to overthrow it.....

It’s a pretty great luxury to be able to play bad football and your team still has the lead in the 4th qtr

Even the "top" guys stats are pedestrian this year.
Allen
63%—237 yards/g—2.14 tds/g—0ints/g—108.6 rating
Burrow
70.4%—264 yards/g—2.14 tds/game—0.14int/g—110.1 rating
2 of the top 3 guys are playing great ball. Mahomes has just been bad on his own

Defense has carried KC for a season and half now.

They remind of Steelers a couple of years of ago that was winning everything but you could tell they had a lot of flaws and eventually imploded

Dude, in his last 23 games (1.5 years), this is his stat line
242 yards/g—1.43 tds/g—1 int/g—90 passer rating
You can’t ignore that many games worth of poor play when you want to compare him to guys like Brady and manning etc
Go look at my thread history, I was a huge proponent of his being well on his way to goat status. But as of now that train has stopped. He has to get back to playing actual elite football to get there
He is on his way to 2 straight seasons of mediocre play while being in his prime. Those other QBs never had that happen

It’s like you didn’t even read my post. I commented on how clutch the dude is and often makes huge plays when he needs to. It can’t be argued that he is putting up even moderately high numbers at this point. I watched the quarterbacks I mentioned put up elite numbers with average guys, and receivers that looked like they should be in a boy band.
I’m not saying mahomes isn’t an elite qb especially situationally. But it can’t really be argued at this point that his numbers haven’t fallen WAY off.
The chiefs are an absolute juggernaut on defense and Chris Jones has been more impactful for that team than Mahomes has been since mid season of last year.

But that's a hypothetical, and we can only go off what we have right now, which is not good.

All I know is if I am a DC, I am telling my defenders to light him up on the sidelines. This pretending to go out and then cutting back because the defender is scared of a flag to pick up more yards is horseshite and he's done it plenty of times.
He gets jacked up a few times and his runs to the sideline will become straight lines.

Andy Reid has already announced that Ju-Ju is out for the Raiders game and Watson, their starting cornerback has a fractured ankle and looks like he could be out the rest of the season. If the Chiefs get the #1 seed with their injury situation Reid should get Coach of the Year.
