And trying to do the whole "the layoff helped them out!!!!" While ignoring the same could be said for others, and I've explained why I think that isn't 100% true to begin with, and then "they won't repeat next year!!!!" As a way to cheapen their championship this year, which people are starting to do, is just hilarious

Oh no, they might not do something that is really rare and difficult. That somehow makes what just happen matter less

Being from Nola, I’m just glad that AD is having success and winning championships somewhere. He played well for us and gave what he could on a complete joke of a franchise that wasted his talent. I hope like heck the same doesn’t happen with Zion but I’ll say that I’m not confident at all that it won’t.

See this is why the NBA Sucks. Every player is "thinking about the Lakers" and the media are always probing for it. It's just all so tiresome. Just move every team to LA and be done. No more regional teams.

right

the way I see it:

they were the best team in October, the best team the weekend before the COVID shutdown, and the best team in the playoffs

Can't take anything away from them no matter how many douche canoes are on that team

What?

Kawhi turned down the lakers
Butler didn’t want to go to the lakers
Paul George was all set to go to the lakers before lebron went there.

Super team era is on its way out.

You're right it did help others, but you cant say a 35 year old Lebron didnt appreciate the long layoff more than younger players. Also Anthony Davis, who has been notoriously injured over his career also probably enjoyed the layoff.

The players that have the stamina and durability to get through the regular season and playoffs at a high level were nullified by the layoff.

The ratings speak for themselves. This was a Mickey mouse season.

The LA-Beijing Lakers will probably win again and after LeBron retires, they’ll get Zion and Luka along with Davis and be incredible.

if anything it hurt him because it caused him to shut his body down cold turkey and he then had to build it back up

Why can't they just repeat what they did this year and surround their two superstar studs with the quality supporting players that complimented them so well? I mean hey it WON THEM THE CHAMPIONSHIP. All you really need in basketball to win championships is two top studs and the right mix of depth and role players, if you're lucky like the Bad Boy Pistons you have literally everything. This superteam crap gotta stop.

Jimmy Butler says he never considered joining the Lakers in free agency

. On June 14, there was a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports the Lakers had “genuine interest” in signing Butler. Two days later, Haynes reported that Butler was a “top priority” for L.A. The day free agency began, Marc Stein of the New York Times added that the Lakers were “pushing” to get a meeting with Butle

Jimmy didn’t even give lebron a meeting

Never said that

I’m not saying the Lakers will not win in 2021. I’m saying that exact same group of guys will not win in 2021. They will have to make roster changes. I hope they can, I literally know nothing about their situation. Tell me what kind of flexibility they have. I’m not a hater.

Still, 3 months is a long time to rest and lebron was starting to break a little last season. If he comes out next year good for a full 82 and playoffs then I'll be impressed.

Isnt Kawhis condition pretty much chronic? As in there's no difference between 2 months or 2 days of rest? If he plays too many consecutive minutes, even if its 2 games in 2 days, his condition will flare.

I was pointing out to T that many many players have spurned lakers (and lebron). it is a huge reach to say every player is thinking about going to LA.. like he mentioned. Jimmy want his own team. he would never make a super team. Dame too, harden too, etc etc. that’s why we say super team era is over. That was lebron and KD, not really anyone else at the super star level.

So basically, NBA fans just have to hope that 2-3 superstars decide they want to team up in your city. And good luck making that happen in Indiana.
