So do the Pats go with Maye or JD5?

They may be eyeing Baker.

No shite. His 2nd and 3rd years were a fricking clown clinic in coaching. Had a DC as OC in 2022, and then one of the worst OCs Bama has ever had in 2023. It's like Belichick was intentionally sabotaging things.

I've seen it in other aspects of life, just haven't seen it coming from an all-time great HC. I do believe Belichick was trying to sabotage the QB position without doing the same for himself. That was his biggest mistake. Now why would you do that? No answer, but I watched one of his assistants do the same with Brian Flores at Miami.

So, who is NEP going to draft? Thats the move reason right?

Considering the timing of this move, they could be eyeing a FA QB(Baker, Cousins) though I think the latter is gonna be a Falcon by Wednesday.

In all seriousness, this is a low-key good move by JAX. Trevor is a little injury-prone and Mac can start in a pinch for a few weeks and there won't be a noticeable drop-off.

Being a backup QB in the NFL is a very lucrative living.

There were 40 other college qbs who could have recreated that season.

And yet none of them did.

Well yeah, because not every other QB is surrounded by 5* talent backed up by 4/5* talent.

So dumb. Even if you think that Mac sucks in the NFL, to deny that he was a great college QB is nothing short of ludicrous.

For half of that season he had 1 elite receiver to throw to. Metchie was a damn good #2 but he wasn't a 5 star talent and didn't really come into his own until 2021.

Yeah that's like believing Bama never had a player get Covid that season.

Ah yes, of course, Bama cheated.

Loser's excuse.

I didn't say Bama cheated. I think its totally believable that Bama was the only team in the NFL and college that didn't have a guy get covid.

So out of every QB drafted in 2021, only Trevor Lawrence has avoided being a bust.

Even he hasn't been nearly as good as he was supposed to be to this point.

2022 was a shite show, but BOB is a proven NFL coordinator, and Mac was still fricking awful.

It’s gotta suck to be LSU fans. Your greatest season in program history and the best thing to ever happen to your state is immediately forgotten about the next season because Alabama - who you desperately want to care about you as much as you obsess about - outperformed you by every single metric.

Man, that’s tough.

I would give Doug Pederson a better chance of getting anything out of him than anyone involved with New England's offense and it's not like outperforming C.J. Beathard is a high bar to clear so why not.

this isn't the worst move.

Mac maybe gets humbled and all of a sudden plays in an arse division in case Trevor gets hurt.
