Apparently we got a haul....Mariners #1 3 and 5 prospects plus a RHP. #1 a Top 20 overall prospect.
Now we wait and see where the heck we're trading Mahle too.

We got a great haul, but when are we going to stop being sellers? So these guys will come up, play like Votto, and our RHP will be the next Castillo, only to ship them off to the Dodgers or Yankees for some more prospects. I know FODB is hated here, but at least he took us to the playoffs three out of four years (six total). Hopefully the Cards don't get Soto; I'm gonna melt if they do.

He didn't pitch last year, and the Astros were in the World Series. The Astros have lost Springer and Correa, two key pieces of the original core, Lance McCullers Jr. hasn't pitched all season, and they are only 2 games back of the Yankees for the best record in the AL.
I'm sorry the truth doesn't match up with your hatred of the Astros, but deal with it.

The Yankees were runners up. We demanded they include Volpe...their best overall prospect. They balked and we called their bluff. Mariners didn't hesitate to give us their #1 3 and 5. Not sure what else Yankees were rumored to have included in their offer to us.
Regardless, all Cincinnati fans are now bandwagon Mariners fans. Geno, Wink and Castillo all playing for them, let's go Ms!

Destroying farm systems for instant gratification is just a walk on the Wildside. The Yankees just aren't going to roll the dice on their future the way big George did business.
I suspect the Yankees have their sights set on some good arms that won't break the bank and the farm system in one swell swoop.

The mariners prospects generally still being pretty far away was part of their reasoning. Marte should be good, but who really knows what he will be by the time he makes it to the majors
