So by going to LSU he made more money and beat OU by 5 TDs in the Playoffs? Sounds like the Browns are getting a smart player at worst.

I *think* he missed only 2 tackles all year. He’s an extremely solid tackling LB. very good pick up.

Only weaknesses are lateral movement and coverage. He can be a decade long starter as a big thumping ILB

Didn’t he lead the SEC in tackles last year?

ETA
Looking it up he may have been second.

Typical MLB. Would’ve been a top 50 pick 10 years ago

Doesn’t have real good speed but doesn’t miss tackles at all.

Led LSU in tackles this year with 113. Think he only missed 2 tackles all year.

5 star prospect out of high school could see him being a starter in a couple of years

Hard to believe... but as good as Phillips and Queen have been at ILB... the best incoming ILB in that same class at LSU was Tyler Taylor. What could have been for that dude.

Stiff lower body with long legs. Lacks lateral agility so he hops between gaps instead of flowing.

Good straight line speed but don’t expect anything in man coverage. Very solid tackler with very long arms but don’t expect any violence. More of a catch and drive tackler.

Can stand up to linemen and plug running lanes freeing safeties to come up clean.

He’s going to be a very solid backup or a quiet yet productive starter.

Very good analysis. He was a huge recruiting win when he signed. LSU was in desperate need of LB help, and he was the best in the country and committed to OU. He probably didn’t meet expectations, but was a very solid player.

He’s a little taller than what I view as a prototypical ILB like Ray Lewis or Devin White. He’s built more like a skinny Rolando McClain or Leighton Vander Esch or a big safety, but lacks lower body bend or agility.

He has the frame and might benefit from adding weight, as long as it doesn’t hamper his already limited agility.

2 year starter and led the team in tackles his junior year. That’s pretty damned good

It’s interesting to see the personal side of our Tigers via pics of them hunting, riding horses, fishing....some good ole southern boys.

He would have looked wonderful in an OU uniform, but the LSU bag man made a last second appearance.

You still wouldn’t have a playoff win even if you had him.

He likes winning in playoff games instead of being embarrassed

It seems a whole lot of important LSU players this past season were also duck hunters. Brennan and CEH posted a lot of stories on IG of them in blinds.

Also, anybody else think it’s super wild seeing all these players from Ohio St going to the NFL team in Louisiana and vice versa, all the LSU players going to an NFL team in Ohio. Weird dynamic....we’re forever linked as fan bases lol.

Good point.

Don't be hating because LSU's bag is bigger than OU's.

Payton apparently hates LSU players, but must players from Ohio. Even drafted a TE from Dayton.
