Life long Browns fan here, I’m familiar with Delpit, but I must say I’m not very familiar with Jacob Phillips. I’m sure he’s talented, but what kind of player are the Browns getting? Strengths...weaknesses? Thanks!

Also, anybody else think it’s super wild seeing all these players from Ohio St going to the NFL team in Louisiana and vice versa, all the LSU players going to an NFL team in Ohio. Weird dynamic....we’re forever linked as fan bases lol.

he's a typical ILB thumper that would have gotten drafted a lot higher in 2005

Do Ohioans always say super?
Burrow does it to

I think he would’ve gone higher if he had come back
Should be able to contribute with browns lb depth
Actually went higher than I thought he would
I think divinity is better prospect but he missed 6 games due to suspension

Long and rangy. Good athlete. Box LB primarily. Very sure tackler

Thumper-type with the athleticism to do things in zone. Don’t expect him to cover TEs and RBs out of the backfield though.

His stock rose big time this year. Huge motor. can cover better than most lb. Y’all got a good one. IMO he needs to keep learning to become a leader bc his game is there to back it up. Biggest weakness is getting sucked into play action

One of those guys that will have as quiet a 10 tackle game you could have.

Excellent in run support. Played very little coverage because Queen was so good at it. Can stick with RBs out of the backfield but ball skills lack with the ball in the air.

As someone else said, typical thumper. Reads offenses easily and I don’t recall him blowing a single gap assignment in a complicated 3-4 scheme this year against excellent competition across the board.

High character too. Great family background. My sister graduated high school with him in East Nashville. Wonderful human being and an awesome player too. He’ll be really good for you guys.

Stiff lower body with long legs. Lacks lateral agility so he hops between gaps instead of flowing.

Good straight line speed but don’t expect anything in man coverage. Very solid tackler with very long arms but don’t expect any violence. More of a catch and drive tackler.

Can stand up to linemen and plug running lanes freeing safeties to come up clean.

He’s going to be a very solid backup or a quiet yet productive starter.

A little stiff, but a big thumper. Downhill tackler. May frustrate you in coverage

Excellent tackler. Not as athletic sideline to sideline as queen but inside the tackle box he is a ball striking jack

I always randomly confuse Gueydan and Maringouin.

I've been to Gueydan once. High school football game where mosquitoes were swarming the field, about 26 penalties got called on us including the only time one of our players got thrown out of game for slinging a one liner at the refs, and I never had a desire to go back.

He would have looked wonderful in an OU uniform, but the LSU bag man made a last second appearance.
