that's great... but last i looked, Houston is still in Texas..

Most of my family is spread throughout LA and nearly all of them, and most we know, root for the Astros.
that's great for the handful of people that includes... i'm sure there are other posters here, with the same sort of story (family and friends, and who they root for) that root for the Braves, or the Red Sox, or some other non-Louisiana based baseball team...

at the end of the day, Louisiana does NOT have a baseball team, so no team should be included in a list when speaking of Louisiana sports teams doing well... that's my point... until those frickers move to NOLA or BR, or something like that they are the HOUSTON Astros

I remember when you couldn't go outside in New Orleans and Baton Rouge without seeing a Cubs fan.

this sorta hits to my point...

for a long time it was the Braves (b/c of TBS)... then the Cubs... then the Red Sox when they were winning... now the Astros... the fact is, LA Baseball fans tend to latch on to winning teams that are riding high, but b/c of the proximity of Houston to LA, now LA fans want to make them the unofficial baseball team of LA... of course, until they start sucking again, then they'll forget about them just like they did the Cubs and Red Sox... the Braves still have fans though

I’ve been liking the Astros since the Biggio days and so have many in Louisiana. Sorry but as much as you don’t like it, the Astros are basically a Louisiana team.

Outside of Tim McGraw, literally NO ONE was an Astros fan back in the day... quit making shite up

look, if you want to consider them a "Louisiana" team, do you... just don't be upset when other people think you are fricking moron for such a shitty, incorrect take... that's all i'm saying... there's simply no reason that you can't be a fan of the team, as many are, without having to interject them as some quasi-Louisiana team, when they simply are not... point blank, period... by your metric, the Cowboys would be a Louisiana team, and guess what... they ain't

Well that’s all just your opinion man. Judging by OP upvote/downvote count I conclude more people agree with me. So whether you like it or not, the Astros are Louisiana’s MLB team.

no, it's quite literally facts... Houston is not in the state of Louisiana... until it is LA doesn't have a resident baseball team.... glad you have an adopted team, but you don't speak for the rest of the people in this state.... keep your shitty take to yourself

Over the Braves? Serious question what part of Louisiana did you grow up in? Because no one I knew except one kid in Baton Rouge liked the Braves and he was a dolphins fan and later played football at Tulane if that tells you anything

It's not about the winning. It's about who they get to watch every day so they can keep up with the players. Yes, it used to be the Braves 20 years ago. Now, the Astros are on TV every day in Louisiana. That's why people become fans.

And yes, I think your bubble is a bit off.

used to be every cubs game on wgn, braves on tbs, and astros/rangers on fox sports. the astros have since gone direct tv(?) exclusive but that was my team growing up. mostly braves fans toward mississippi while the astros get a lot of sw la. only nerds like the cubs.

and that's all cool... i support y'all loving the Stros...

but my only point is there is NO "Louisiana" baseball team, adopted, de facto, whatever... period... you wanna root for them, cool... do you.... but to say they are a Louisiana sports team, and to include them in a list with other actual Louisiana sports teams, yeah, get that shite out of here... Louisiana sports is doing just fine without having to include some "almost LA" shite too
