The whole league operates out of the JCCS lower school field, the "board members" are littered with Curtis associates.

Curtis had the field turfed and spruced up back in '16. I know their are dues and what not to play LL, Im sure some private donors funded this as well. I know Larry Gibbs (Gibbs construction) is the president of the EBLL. He's got FU $$

quote:

The 2016 Eastbank Littke league season will be played on turf. Thats right, EBLL and John Curtis Christian School agreed to a long term deal that includes the beginning of construction in January of 2016 at the JCCS lower school. The field will be turfed in time for the beginning of the 2016 EBLL SEASON!!!! This will be the permanent home for EBLL.

Along with the field improvements, the entire perimeter of the field will have a 6' fence with wind screen (except along the 3rd base line where the stands are located) and a new scoreboard will be on the way shortly as well. The New Orleans area premier league will be playing on Jefferson Parish's premier youth field at JCCS.

That’s nice.

Carrollton got all their fields turfed by the NFL giving them the turf from the NFL expo from the last time the Super Bowl was played there, and selling beer and wine at the concession stand help pay for the installation

Chalmette got theirs turfed thanks to FEMA and selling beer and wine at their concession stands.

Eta: I forgot that Lasalle just got turfed as well.

Guess how they paid for it

JP funded La Salle’s turf and revamped drainage to the tune of $1.5 mil. Those fields are very nice now

to clarify, Val Riess, where most travel ball is played, adult cabbageball, and a few HS games involving NOLA teams, not CHS, who can't sell beer and wine (thank God)

The parks such as Carolyn Park, Bournemouth, and Kenilworth are not turfed yet.

None of the parks sell alcohol while the schools are playing

As soon as the schools are done, the beer starts flowing.

So I got told at the barbershop today in Chalmette where another LL game was on at the time, that one of the kids on the team "lived down here and went to Holy Cross".

Guessing the barber had bad info, but if that's true, they have an ineligible player due to him not living in the district boundaries or attending a school located in them. I'll have to look at the districts again between Eastbank and New Orleans LL.

Owl, can’t they get waivers for kids living and attending school not inside any LL boundary?

I think Holy Cross and Chalmette are both in the New Orleans district.

In fact, I know they are because I went to the New Orleans LL Facebook page and they have a map of the district posted on their page.

yeah I think this barber got bad info... Maybe the kid lives down the road past where the New Orleans LL boundary ends? Only Arabi and Chalmette are within the New Orleans LL boundary

Ah but notice that little part by City Park... HC might be in the Eastbank boundary but just barely

Which may or may not be a coincidence

Totally agree. Some of these kids are throwing 75mph+. At 46ft, that is almost impossible to hit and very difficult for an amateur umpire to call consistently

Agreed. Playing this distance at this age is just dumb. LLWS would benefit a lot by moving everything to usssa standards

Yeah I see that. Very close. I’m sorry I can’t post pics from my phone so best I could do was post the link.

Did you see the story they just did on the team while they they were taking BP at Big Easy? Let me see if I can link it
