Does he really think Sun Belt players will win him games at Fla?

A lot of LSU fans thought Harvard transfers would win us games.

Montrel Johnson is the real deal and could have been the best RB to play for our program.
Who knows if there’s tampering by Napier going on. That would be a hell of an accusation.
I think bigger picture, this is one of the main fallouts of NIL. Now that paying players to attend certain schools is out in the open (everyone knew the big programs were already getting money to their top players), G5 programs will fall further behind in being able to recruit and/or secure top talent.

G5 and most of the P5 will now be farm schools for the elite 15 or so programs.

Starting to look like that.
Oh well, guess soon any monies spent towards Cajun athletics by me will be for the Spring sports. No reason to waste money on football if it’s just wide open free agency.

Nobody is going to those schools as their first choice anyway. They will continue to go after the guys that fall through the cracks and get overlooked by the big boys. The transfer portal is what will kill the G5s because once a guy proves he can play, he will transfer out.

You realize their top corner is a day 2 projected draft pick and they have two All American OL who may play on Sundays.

this is just the modern day NCAA scene. Players will come and go. Free agency is here.

Elijah Mitchell looks great with SF for a 6th round draft pick

This.
You’ll really start to see high performing G5 players portal to good P5 schools regularly.
A 3rd team All-American LB from Miami (OH) who was the MAC DPOY just hit the portal yesterday. He ended up going to Cincy but got offers from LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and a host of other programs. I assume you'll see more of the all conference and award winners from the G5 schools cash in and shop themselves to bigger programs.
The portal basically killed JUCO with quickness, and it along with NIL will largely do the same to non-P5 college football.

"Does he really think Sun Belt players will win him games at Fla?":
On 10/12/21:
A season-high 27 Sun Belt alumni appeared in Week 5 of the National Football League (NFL) season, with 11 earning starts for their respective teams.(SBC Website)
Why are some of you people so narrow minded?

This right here.
And as a result, you’ll likely see fan and private funding support for G5 programs drop when even the most loyal fans get tired of seeing their best players be one and done.

At the very least, the no penalty transfers have to end, or pulling for any but the most elite/wealthiest programs will become a very frustrating experience that is going to lead to much lower fan interest.
