5A just got easier for West Monroe.

What catholic league principals is what I would like to know. I've seen you repeatedly say the catholic league, but say 2 principals. out of all the catholic league teams Shaw has played Curtis the most out of everyone if I recall correctly.

1. Coach Saia is not the Principal.

I agree just trying to figure out why the Catholic League in general is brought up and say just two principals.

This all actually goes back to Reserve Christian, Christian Life and Evangel Basketball
RCA, ECA and CLA all used questionable tactics and brought in foreign kids. RCA beat the hell out of Midland in the Class B Top 28 in Lafayette. Midland's principal, Clyde Briley went off at the next LHSAA convention on Reserve Christian and he organized the original split discussion. It was tabled and Tommy Henry brokered peace. It came up again over football and was squashed again, but this time it had legs and a new Commissioner in favor of "fair play" for all.
Now it has reached fruition with today's events

Catholic League principals didn't want Curtis in their district or in their class.

Are they really going to play all the title games in one weekend?
That means they are going to drag out the select playoffs for five weeks? What, they are going to let everybody in the playoffs? Heck, they might have to import some Mississippi schools just to fill in the brackets.
This is ridiculous. This may be even more stupid than the 2004 decision. We must really be losing our best and brightest educators to Texas because the decisions that come out of the meetings don't reflect a particularly high aptitude.

They are talking about playing the games in the dome on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I think the 4 and 5 A non select will be Saturday night because of the crowd size. If they went to a "super class" and the schools did not play all the way up, what happens then? The bottom line is select schools can control their enrollment and non select can't. If they control their enrollment they can control their classification.

Actually just in their district. Catholic league had nothing to do with Curtis not playing up in class. They were scared! And frankly talked out the side of their mouth about it

wait until the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the final select/non-select criteria comes out.
Also expect the first school in line with a lawsuit to be Carver. That principal getting shut down on his amendment on the record opened up a huge can of worms about who is select and non-select.

This is patently false. I don't think the vast majority of private schools could get any bigger than they are if they wanted to.
There are exceptions. I'm sure Catholic-BR could have 1,500 boys if it wanted to considering how competitive it seems to be to gain admission into that school.
But I'll put it like this: Redemptorist sure as hell couldn't be 3A if it wanted to, probably not even 2A.
For that matter, I would bet that some of the small, powerhouse schools like Evangel and Curtis don't turn a soul down who wants to go to their school and can pass a minimal background check (no felonies...or at least no violent felonies,

Some of these private schools simply aren't great schools and aren't in high demand outside of their niche in athletics.

incorrect
4A and 5A principals - (old Catholic League included) banded together with B and C to get the play in class rule shoved down 2A's throat. This was all about JC and ECA not being in 4A or 5A, not just the Catholic League.

Carver principal said his enrollment against Karr would be unfair
he tried to get a motion started to amend the proposal and was shot down with the quickness

Dude they had YEARS to play up in 5a and never did.
