I was reading an article posted on the recruiting board about Notre Dame High School and got me thinking-

JT Curtis(JCC), Jim Hightower(STM) and Louis Cook(ND) are all about the same age and have been coaching forever at their respective schools. As far as I know none of them have announced plans to retire, but I don't have a connection at any of these schools so I easily could have missed it.

Which of these guys will be the first to retire? Last one standing?

JT Curtis is #2 on the all time wins list for high school coaches. He could break the record next year. He definitely isn't going anywhere until he owns the record.

Those guys might die on the job…

What’s more impressive is that their programs haven’t really dipped much over the years

I didn't realize he coached at Crowley, I thought he was always at Notre Dame.

CHSPC's sole state title under Hightower!

No doubt, the good these three and guys like Monica, Weiner, Shows, etc. have done in the lives of young men is immeasurable.

Hightower might drop out first. Dude is old.

Its funny that in this time of job hopping all over the place. those 3 guys you named have been at their schools forever. sTm is pretty impressive. They have had the same AD, basketball coach, and football coach for over 30 years.

Curtis was 18 wins away from the record at the start of this season. He's got 10 this year at the moment.

Surely they will break it next year if I had to guess.

A while back, didn't the LHSAA order a season or two's worth of wins forfeited because of an ineligible player? The school was going to try to challenge that ruling by the LHSAA in the courts. Did the school win the court case because, if not, then J.T. will have to coach another year or two on top of that to make up the difference from the setback caused by those additional forfeit losses.

He coached me in biddy football while working for Bob Morgan Athletics in Lafayette. He was a good coach/teacher then, even as a very young man.

Cook is “retiring” every year lol!
We are very close friends with their family and he says every year that he’s retiring “after this guy or that group” but the man can’t let it go- and thank God! He’s a treasure! It’s not always the case that you meet a coach who’s a better man- Lewis is one of those guys

I almost posted exactly this, but figured someone who knew him better would

First I remember was when his youngest finished he would step down

So how many years is that ago? Maybe 7 or so

Brent just needs a little more time to be right there.

Real happy he's back in the game.

Went to the Opelousas game, and as usual, he outschemed with inferior talent

With as many programs as he has quickly turned around and brought close to or in the Dome, he's likely a HOF shoe in

And I don't think he's close to done

Who was the coach at Hanson in Franklin?
Didn't he have a ton of wins also?
