Looks like teams with very bad records could get to go bowling this year.

There will be no win requirements to play in a bowl this season, if approved by NCAA’s Council next month. So we potentially could have a winless team go bowling!

they did, because they were forced to buy tickets. But with no one able to go, could be a break even deal

The NCAA deserves so much shite for not even being bothered to release a field of teams for last basketball season so teams can at least claim something on a banner. As it stands if you didn’t win the conference regular season title the basketball season may well never have happened.

If I were a coach of a 4-6 or 3-7 team that got invited to a bowl I would decline out of pride.

Yup, the tickets sold through the school cost much more than what was available through the bowl’s website and ticketing websites as well.

Plus the tickets cost too much. You really expect a fanbase to drop $100 a ticket plus travel/room/food costs? You wind up spending significantly more for a bowl game than you do a regular game against an opponent you have vested interest in.

Tickets for games like the New Orleans Bowl, Pizza Bowl, Potato Bowl, etc - all the bowls that feature one or more G5 team - shouldn’t have a single ticket cost over $25 and the majority of tickets should be $10 or less.

They also need to limit the number of bowls a city can have to one apiece and certain cities don’t need to be hosting a bowl anymore - Shreveport, Birmingham, NYC, Nassau - and other cities should be hosting bowls - Charleston, Mobile, Savannah.

And stop putting games on at 2 pm during the week and being surprised no one is watching them. Yeah no shite. Not everyone is a teacher or student, people do still work around the holidays. Hell the majority of the working age population is doing just that.

Also, the tickets forced to Universities to sell to fans were horrible. You could get 100x better on after market for 50% or more cheaper.

Dumbasses i know bought from University, they bought into the "Looks bad when University has 2 give back tickets". BS.
