This. I’ll take one of whatever the OP is having, it’s got to be some good shite.

It won't. I figured Denver would scrape by and win the first game. Lakers have it well in hand.

As long as AD gets some help from his teammates, it should go six at least.

Who are you suggesting needs to show up? Lebron had damn near 30 and was 1 assist shy of a triple double, Reeves had 23, Rui had 17.

Offensively they shot 55/45%

That's as good of an offensive showing as the Lakers are capable of and the Nuggs still had a 14 point lead heading into the 4th.

Will the Lakers win some in the series, absolutely, but there ain't some magical teammates on that roster to give him more help.

Look back at every game they have played 2-3 of their side pieces play well and the others don't.

The other questions are what happens when AD has his couple of down games and does anything in the playoff run this year suggest LeBron will continue to drop those numbers every night of this series?

What you fail to realize is what makes the Lakers a great team is their halfcourt defense. That’s their starting point to everything-but in particular their transition offense. So AD can dominate the paint without touching the ball. The reason why the Lakers got back into the game was their defense. Davis can only do so much. His supporting cast needs to make shots and their shot creators need make plays. LeBron will find his spots, just like he’s supposed to do. Make his free throws in the clutch like he did last night, make the right pass. But Davis shouldering the defense and the offense is a lot of responsibility. The lakers front office made the right moves acquiring more playmaking this year, as that’s the best way to build around AD. See the Pels when they had Rondo Boogie and Jrue…that was ADs best roster in NOLA and were an Achilles tear away from a real showdown with the Warriors. AD thrives with playmakers and the Lakers have done well building around him.

I agree they have defended pretty well against Memphis and GS, but both of those teams were very reliant on the 3pt shot to score well. Denver is built differently and that really showed up in Game 1. They dropped 132 on that D, and even if you only want to take the second half total of 60, where the "amazing adjustments" were made that's still a 120 per game average and the 126 the Lakers dropped last night is at the absolute TOP of their offensive capabilities.

To get to 126...AD had to score 14 over his playoff average, Lebron 3 over, Reeves 7 over and Rui 5 over....for a total of 29 over their average for 4 of their starting five to get to that offensive output last night.

The Nuggets on the other hand, got a total of +15 over their average out of thier starting five to hit 132. Joker +3, Murray +4, Gordon -1, Porter even...but Pope did go for +9

I may be crazy and may be very wrong, but I just don't think LA can keep up with this Denver team. Honestly, I don't think anybody can. They are built very well, have a ton of talented pieces that play their role well and can have big nights, they look for the next pass well, run the floor well and can play inside out as well as anyone with guys who can and will make the shots on most nights.

I'm not a Denver fan, btw, just have enjoyed watching this year.

Idk if you know this but the Lakers average more points per game than the Nuggets.

Your whole argument of the Lakers absolute best can’t keep up with the nuggets average is kind of silly.

2023 Postseason Stats

PPG:

Denver 117.2
LA 113.3

Season Long Offensive Efficiency:

Denver 1.146
LA 1.108

Last 3 games same stat:

Denver 1.257
LA 1.181

I will gladly concede the season long scoring average advantage of .6 points that the Lakers own over the Nuggs

I’m referring to an 82 game season sample size. Not two playoff series.
