LLWS where are they now?

With LA playing for a spot for Williamsport today it got me thinking of the 2019 team that won it all. How many of those kids ended up playing college ball? Looks like Marshall Louque had a great year at LSU E last year and Reece Roussel is at Centenary. Anyone else have good high school/college careers?

Roussell is a cautionary tale for parents. The best kid at 12 is very rarely the best at 18

I think he dealt with a lot of injuries in high school.

I dunno if "rarely" is a fair answer. But they aren't anymore likely than anyone else to become D1 prospects, let alone pro.

I thought he was pretty tall in 2019 but he's listed as 5'10" in college, must've not grown a whole lot after that season.

thats not really true and roussell wasnt close to the best kid at 12, he was about where he ended up going to college.
LL was shite then and its even worse now, the best kids do not play it.
but even so...getting to play college ball puts him in roughly the top 7% or so of baseball players in the country....pretty damn good
guess what...bryce harper was the best at 12 and at 18...so let that be a lesson, the best at 12 is usually the best at 18

he did and he also didnt really lift weights from what I could tell and if he did...he did a shitty job. was always skinny af and college rewards physicallity
I mean Jay Johnson was on DC at 12. LSU was on Jordin Griffin at 12. FSU was on Fuller at 12....DC turned out alright and the other 2 are heading into senior year as minimum top 50 in all the rankings

Prather played with Henderson Flash this summer and is actually pitching again
Little League teams that are going all the way to Williamsport are not Little League only teams
They are travel ball players that move onto Little League all star teams during the summer as travel ball ends usually in June at that age

When you watch kids at 12 and there’s always that one that’s about 5’2, 100lbs and he’s not the best but he keeps up with the much bigger kids. 9/10 he turns into a dude by 16.

I remember that 2008 LLWS team from Lake Charles. They were pretty good at 12, pretty good at 18, one of them went on to be a starter in the NFL, several went on to play at a very high level in D1 baseball.

correct usually the LLWS are mainly travel kids but usually not the best travel kids. but the travel kids play minimum amount of games to qualify for all stars and then try to make a run for LLWS. usually only play the one year
last 8 years or so though, its usually been like AAA level kids making it there with a sprinkle of majors level kids. so 100% not close to the best kids

there is a greater chance he never grows to be able to compete and doesnt even make his HS team because BBCOR and the big field are a mother fricker for little kids like that.

I didn’t say there’s a 90% chance he’d make it to D1. I don’t see many high school teams that are made up of only 6’2 210lb players. Oh let me guess, Barbe right? I’m talking about that smaller kid with elite hands and bat control, he’ll fill out and strengthen up eventually and see the field most places. Point being, the kid that’s 5’10 160 at 12 isn’t always going to have that much of a physical advantage as he gets older either. There’s a huge disparity at 12.

its just not true at all. the small field and the usssa bat reward the smaller kids. bbcor and 60/90 kills them. as many times as they grow and become a dude....they end up not even making the hs team.
and not even talking about barbe, barbe doesnt have big players at all.
and yea the 5'10 160 kid doesnt have an advantage if he quits growing
but
who where the hell do you think all the 6'3 kids come from? usually from the group that was 5'9 at 12
