Catholic is 5A. They can’t add any extra points for playing up. Warren Easton is 4A. All of their out of district games were against 5A teams. That’s 2 more points per game right off the bat.

Confirmation that the system needs retooling.
They aren’t 5A or 4A. They are D1.

I don’t like that because it’s assuming every crowd has Baptist sensibilities. Some of us actually are trashy

And you don’t have to curse to be a reprehensible human being

Central Catholic and Vermillion Catholic should be electric tomorrow. It’ll be the Thursday broadcast for Under the Lights.

Did they not think of that when they shoved some 4A teams into Div 1?

Yeah really not right for Neville to be seeded that high imo. 4 points from playing Ruston and Ouachita then playing 4A opponents for their district. They’ll end up with a bye over a ton of 5A schools while losing to both 5A schools they played in the regular season. Doesn’t seem right.

Around other men? They were in the press box with their coaches. Or were they on top of the press box in open air saying it loudly where the FP families could hear?

The power rankings are stupid also. There are only TWO undefeated teams left in the entire state in 5A and they’re not 1 or 2. Then after this weekend there will only be one left since they play each other.
Destrehan has only given up 1 TD all season and their lowest score is like 42 I believe.

It’s a math equation… but I thought it was something that on the lists of the last undefeated teams, that there weren’t many “traditional” heavy hitters. Everyone wants to test themselves now and when you do you’ll usually take at least one L

ESJ must’ve played an abysmal schedule so far to be so low while undefeated. I expect Destrehan to win that one convincingly.

Destrehan is one of those traditional Heavy hitters. I Guess when you’re higher in the rankings you’re everyone else’s points.

If game management, school admin, venue admin or officials heard it..... that's enough. The rules from NFHS and LHSAA are pretty clear.

They were not suspended due to the profanity, they were suspended for everything after. Especially the coaches that left their sidelines, went across the field and into the stands.

Maybe I feel differently due to being raised in a military family, but I would think less of them if they didn’t go after their guys. No man left behind. I would’ve 100% gone to get my fellow coaches as well. Not saying I’d go in knocking down grandmas and babies. Just saying I would go help get them back to our sideline.

As a military vet, I would say following the rules, is significantly more important. They are mandated to stay with their kids, that is their first responsibility. Added to that is going into the stands, that is a job for Law enforcement and game/venue admin.

That's what happens when the powers that be decide to completely change the playoffs system during the season. It's ridiculous what they did. All of this should have been figured out...INCLUDING adjustments to the Power Rating system.

Warren Easton also benefitted from a "win" from a Karr forfeit.

I predict we’re going to see a lot less visiting coaches in the home press box in the near future… wonder if their headsets require to be plugged in. There’s probably wireless battery headsets now.

You'd have to say the same thing about Destrehan.....since they're one spot below ESJ. Both schools' Power Ratings are being hindered by the terrible quality of the rest of District 7-5A. Hahnville is the 3rd "best" team in that district and are 4-4, including a loss to 2-A Newman.

I've seen both ESJ and Destrehan. I'd expect this to be a closer game than most people think it will be. ESJ has some athletes on that squad this season.

I’m sure they have wireless headsets. It’s the issue of Stadium size. There are a lot of stadiums in Louisiana without a press box on the visitor’s side. Heck there are a ton with visitor’s sides that aren’t tall enough to get any aerial view really. Not just smaller schools either. My least favorite is getting on top of the press box at ASH. Shakes and is not actually on the stadium. It sits on top, but actually the entire thing hangs off the back.
