Pine Prairie may be worse. The debate last night was who would win between them and Bolton. The consensus was that Bolton would win.

They are a solid 1A team. A few too many of their most important players play both ways to make too deep a run in the playoffs, imo.

Their kicker/punter, #88 Profitt, was a difference maker in each game the last two weeks.

Pretty sure Riverdale and EJ beat them last year

Total bs by one team not lining up to shake hands

Christopher Wilson on Facebook explained it… teams don’t want to risk fights after chippy games… those have worse consequences than just waving bye from the other sideline

Mosquito Bowl in Springfield. People said it was miserable if you didn’t have some repellent.

Right. Like Kentwood, Southern Lab, etc. who usually make deep runs in the playoffs.

Westminster's offense relys a bit too much on long TDs as well. They will struggle with a team that can limit those as they haven't shown the ability to sustain drives, but I guess they haven't needed to as of yet.

Example, against SHS last week: They scored on drives of one play and three plays. Nothing otherwise, even when getting a TO at the plus 30 yard line. SHS has no where near the athletes Westminster will run into past the second round of the playoffs.

This district usually doesn't make it past the second round of the playoffs, execept for if a team runs into a great matchup in the second round based on inflated power points. We shall see. They are a Senior heavy team with players that have been starting for multiple years who are good sized athletes. Their coach does a good job as well.

Westminster's RB and three WR play both ways. The RB at Middle LB. He is their guy on defense. While he is 6'2" 220lbs, huge for a 1A RB, he gets tired. The drop off at RB behind him is significant.

Right. Like Kentwood, Southern Lab, etc. who usually make deep runs in the playoffs.

Historically, Kentwood has a bunch of players who play both ways.

Really? I didnt know that. When Ive seen them in the Dome, I always remembered 50+ kids on the team. Thanks for letting me know.

Ouachita Christian is a better example than Kentwood then.

I know Southen Lab has a boatload.

It’s a pitiful lacks of self control, and discipline if you can’t manage to shake hands after a game regardless of how chippy it was.

Another trend of issues with the COVID era kids.

“We’ve had some issues this year shaking hands – nothing against those guys, it was a clean, fun game,” Parkway head coach Coy Brotherton said. “We don’t want to risk doing anything stupid.”

Agree 100%. We continue to make excuses for these kids, and it’s not doing them any favors in the long run.

I can assure you whenever you see a team not shake hands after a game, it was decided by the coaches, not the players

Because those coaches realize that they haven’t instilled the necessary level of discipline to keep their players from doing something stupid.

A few notes from last night (WCA included).

Discussed Chantz Babineaux briefly. He's affected games more than anybody.

Lafayette Renaissance at Lafayette Christian is on KVNTV. The sound is often screwed up, but you can watch the game without sound if you are interested. It is also broadcast.

Does anyone know which games are being broadcast on the radio in the Lafayette area, and on which station? I've looked all over and can't find anything. TIA

Yep, this game is going to reveal how good WM is.

Lots of potential at WM, a large student body, facilities that are second to none in Louisiana, a huge fan base that is wanting to see a return to glory.

I wouldn't say WM is a sleeping giant but would say more of a slumbering giant that needs the right ingredients to be revived.

I think ASH finally gets over the WM homefield losing streak but look for a battle.

BTW, I am interested to see how Ouachita fares against Ruston. Ouachita has a pretty good team this year. Ruston, supposedly has a few key players still out due to injuries.
