If that was the case, ND would have move diversity on that team. Coach Cook definitely isn't going into South Crowley to look for talent. They have a reputation to uphold.

None of these schools give out athletic scholarships. Not Notre Dame, LCA, STM, Teurlings. They all have financial assistance that has to go through an application process. Tuition assistance is based upon financial need.
I would like to know if anyone here had a kid get an athletic scholarship to any one of the four schools I mentioned above. Not, "I heard so and so". Actual proof.

I guess it depends on their financial situation. I'm not sure on how the application process works but there is one. My wife worked at LCA for a few years. Our kids had discounted tuition.

And good athletes tend to have financial need.
If an athlete and a non-athlete both have the same amount of financial need… and the school can only afford to cover one… which one are they covering?

Not sure. I don't have a hand in selecting. But this talk of these private schools handing out scholarships to good athletes is false. There may be some that get assistance but the vast majority are paying full tuition unless a parent works or volunteers at said school.

I’m late to the party, but I just realized that Hamilton Christian (1A school from Lake Charles) didn’t field a football team this fall. I guess they lost a ton of enrollment after what happened last year.

My older brothers best friend went to ND his freshman year. I think his grandpa was on the faculty so they gave his parents a little help on tuition. He played football and baseball. He came to Crowley High his sophomore year because his parents could no longer afford it. Starting pitcher for 3 years and starting safety for 2. If they gave out scholarships, he would have definitely gotten one.

In the news today… L.B. Landry is probably in their last football season now… a lot of those kids will go to Karr and Algiers will be united
Just a decade ago they were state champions.

I've coached at private schools. Good athletes applications "jump", "average" applications. I guess each school is different though.

Champions by one of the most lopsided scores in title game history too.....
not many of their players would play at Karr.
where you hearing that?

That's what I said, my kids had discounted tuition because my wife was on staff. It wasn't financial assistance and we didn't have to fill out an application. It's given to all staff members.
Athlete applications may take priority. But I don't know of one student that went to any of the four mentioned schools for free.
