How can that happen? STM only has 350 boys to pick from… oh well, another underachieving year for Wiener and his 5,000 boys to pick from… oh wait….

Central's coach must have seen the writing on the wall. He learned from the best, Sid Edwards, to get out of dodge when the talent is gone.

He knew from his Redemptorist days that our fancy BR private school boys only had so much grit in them until they rolled over. Sad thing is they don’t experience real athletes until HS. Never been a secret to anyone who ever paid attention the last 30 years. Sid knew.

Simoneaux has Central rolling. Will be interesting to see if they are real or not as that district schedule gets going.

I think Fuller will be fine at catholic if they give him time to get there. But I imagine there is some melting going on.

I’m sure there is. But let’s be real about how bad CHSBR losses are. Warren Easton was ugly loss to top 5 team, but they did lose to no 1 4A STM in final minute and no 1 3A UHS with 1 second left. If they are down, it won’t take much to add to mix to get back to very top.

I asked last week if mandeville high was legit, people told me yes

They in fact do suck. Up 14-0 last week to Walker then lose

Up 16-0 to 0-3 north shore last night and lose 23-16

To me, as someone who moved here recently, Mandeville High is the most underachieving high school in the state. They are a top 5 school in size and in a very affluent area with all kinda of resources and they suck at pretty much everything. It’s impressive

Also squeaked out the jamboree against Madison Prep.

The lack of discipline shown to lose that U-High game should be concerning

Yep 29-26. JuJuan Johnson threw 5 interceptions 2 pick-sixes and another in Ruston territory that resulted in Ruston's first offensive

You misspelled Dutchtown, the largest high school student body in the state.

What I’ve never heard about that issue is that they’re the closest school to the Causeway… which means if anyone on the Northshore loses kids to the NOLA Catholic powerhouses (in addition to St Paul’s and now Hannan), it’s them.

A terrible completely false excuse I hear often

They still have 2,157 students in an area with tons of school and parent money. They aren’t losing many kids to any school. They have a hit ton themselves and even the affluent parents still use the public schools here

To me, it seems they have very poor junior sports structure and coordination between areas as well as lack of school/coaching buy in

Crazy, right? And LCA had the ball in Ruston territory inside the 20 with a minute to go and sort of self-destructed.

Reminds me of old-school football, Acadiana still plays that way for the most part. Ruston looked like a mature, well-coached, and disciplined team. Like few others I've seen in HS.
