Official on top of play signals Touchdown (I don't recall if white hat repeated TD call)

in the heat of the moment this happens plenty of times but nearly always is gotten right(the sooner the better)

Their two commentators are the worst I have ever heard bitching about everything under the sun. Tonight, it was the refs fault in every face
they are better than most school based announcers, nearly all school based announcers are abysmal, in many cases the announcers from NFHS, VSN are impartial but don't always know rules. i'm not gonna call em out but several school based announcers are significantly worse.

Couple of things about some of the less talked about... homer gets elyjay curry back( he quit at halftime if arcadia game and missed glenbrook game) and beats haynesville on the road. Glenbrook is good. Now i think they may have beat Homer anyway( glenbrook slaughtered haynesville early in season) Homer will make a run in playoffs. Prob fall short this year. David feaster has got Glenbrook rolling. Those boys can play. Should compete in playoffs. Airline is rolling also. They can put points up fast. Should win a couple playiff games. Ready for the dome! Went last year and watched a few games. High school football is a fun watch in that venue.

I do believe they got it right in the end (kudos to them)

I wish white hat in high school was mic’d up and could announce calls especially in times like that but I’m guessing most schools would not be able to swing that setup

agree, I have been mic'd up several times, it takes some getting used to and preparation. but complex or confusing rulings are always(or should always ben articulated to BOTH coaches). I don't mind being on a mic, but I am a good public speaker, not everyone is cool with it.Dangerous thing about plays like that is NOT being ADAMANT with whistle when you kill the play because thats when kids get hurt.

Public speaking is a skill that can be taught over time with prep and practice. But yes it would be different

From both my playing days and officiating days… the worse possible scenerio fir player safety is a single light whistle that only a few players hear. If you blow an IW you better repeat it loud and proud.

Looks like the Select III is Newmans

u high says hello

I see that Newman is the projected No. 1 seed and UHigh the 8th seed and brackets are relesed later today. Does the LHSAA do the traditional seed mmatchups of:

1 v 8
2 v. 7
3 v 6
4 v 5

In the quarters? If so, then UHigh and Newman should be paired up on the Friday after Thanksgiving @ Newman?

So the two clear as day best teams in the state will play in the quarter. Louisiana is impressive how much they frick up. Even things like this that don’t matter but is so damn easy

They didn’t ask for Karr to get three forfeits lol

The real showdown would be Karr and Destrehan

well if you remember the "pre-seeding days of Bi district play) many times the 2 best teams met in the first round or 2nd. and a few years back in a select bracket one team had all layups to the finals and spent 1 day a week preparing for their opponent of the week and 3 days for the team they felt would be in finals, the team on the other side did not have that luxury. This is LIGHT years better than anything since the split started(should have been like this from the get go, with some modifications)

the best team they played is 5-5 Besides they could have schedule Karr instead of Bonnabel or Ehret
