It looks like it's more common in Mo than in LA though
A Kansas high school basketball team took what has to be the most surprising loss in school history recently.
Sedgwick High‘s boys basketball was forced to forfeit its upcoming game on January 7 against Berean Academy because of an alumni scrimmage it held over the school’s holiday break, according to a report from SI High School’s Levi Payton. The violation comes from Rule 30, Article 6, Section A of the Kansas activities rulebook which states, “During a scrimmage there can be no score kept and no clock. Use of officials is permitted.

Time to do away with all school sports on all levels and just have city/town based leagues (or for college, it will be minor league professional sports since they are paid professionals now).

Louisiana is incapable of having a governor that's not stupid.

Yeah, if this passes and turns into a bunch of spoiled brats like college, I think I'll turn in my keys and find another profession.

Some of the rules here in Kansas are so asinine/outdated. Coaching here is like trying to coach in the 50’s with some of the stupid shite we do.
ETA: I do think if the board chose to actually enforce that rule you’d probably see a lot more instances of forfeits happening but for some reason that isn’t one they care about.
God forbid a cross country kid walks in a charity 5k with their family in season though.

Not surprised this was blown out.
The principals are the ones who vote, and they are slow / reluctant to change.
For many of them, this two day convention is the one time of year they actually somewhat pay attention to the issues around high school sports.

There's a bill in the Texas legislature right now to legalize one time transfers in UIL schools. The coaches associations are fighting hard against this.

Who’s pushing it?
Unfortunately I think NIL and transfer rules (the general concept of athlete empowerment) are becoming a racial issue wherever they’re brought up, and that’s dissuading people from supporting changes whom otherwise would

I said what I said. There’s a racial divide on the issue.

For NIL in college?

I found it interesting that Catholic - BR and UHigh voted against this, which you think they would vote for with recruiting, but SJA voted yes.

MAYBE Foster (I was too young at the time to know). Piyush was a raging idiot hell bent on destroying public education (like dirty Laundry is trying to do now). And don't give me that crap about "indoctrinating" children because it is definitely NOT like that where I am. A prayer is said every morning over the announcements, and pretty much all things liberal are talked down upon.
