Private schools need to start their own association and bring slick hair Bonine with them. The best solution is to start over and get rid of the executive committee small school reps have turned their backs on the schools they represent. In January everything will go back together and then that will be the end of a lot of small schools. The Lhsaa is doing the work of the LDOE Brumley wants the little schools gone it is getting to hard to fund them. So they can consolidate schools and make big factory schools that turn out kids that don't want to be held accountable.

I wish someone would make a list of the cheaters public and private, but not just by school, also name the coaches who are responsible. That would open a can of worms that would never be closed.

One school that is relatively “big” will always be able to have more opportunities for kids in all aspects (art, music, drama club, advanced academics, sports) than the small schools that have been going by the wayside for 50 years now

They can be funded, it’s just “what’s the point?” when the bigger school is just a few minutes drive away

a) your first post is retarded

B) has nothing to do with cheating. im talking open enrollment. why is it ok for a public school to have open enrollment and not be select but privates cant

example.. Many, because they are the only school in the district with football any kid in the district can attend to play. Well that allows for them to choose from over 2k males and still play non select 2a ball. which is horseshite!!

and how is it cheating if a private school offers a kid a free ride? isnt the public school offering them a free ride? all it is doing is leveling the playing field, yet people bitch constantly.

how about instead of the public schools calling that cheating they learn to compete. offer better education, better facilities, better coaching and better training. Do you really believe a kid would leave to go to a private school if the public was better?

how many kids you see leaving Barbe or Sam Houston or West Monroe baseball to head over to the local private school? not many, why because they offer as good or better coaching, facilities, training and a good education. Kids are not going to leave to pay for school if the current program is better.

Why don’t the small publics split off? The privates were instrumental in founding the LHSAA. Why do you think the public school model should be the default for the LHSAA? The LHSAA houses numerous different types of school systems under one banner; it’s incredibly narcissistic and shallow to just assume that “your system” is the default.

Yeah this is a reclassification year

Here’s a list of how every school voted… 381 of 404 LHSAA schools were at the meeting

3 Baton Rouge schools didn't care enough to drive 5 miles to vote. I probably can understand LSD and LSVI, but Glen Oaks?

Also, the 3 Plaquemines Parish schools voted NO, wonder why? (I coached down there from 87-95)

Really the whole archdiocese of NOLA.

The privates, especially the Catholic schools, have been integral to the LHSAA since it’s inception.

When public schools stopped promoting coaches to administration and started turning administrators over every few years, that history and a lot more was forgotten.

Districts wouldn’t have changed until next year with reclassification

Maybe Belle Chasse didn’t like them being in a 4A district but playing in a mostly 5A playoff bracket, and likewise the same thing for South Plaquemines and Phoenix

If we’ve settled this issue, then the next decision needs to be to get rid of classes.

Do the districts by division. If needed, allow public and private schools in the same division number to be in the same districts.
