The state championship would be his 301st win.

First off you talk about Destrehans schedule as if they are responsible. The storm took their non district. They had Byrnes on their schedule and lost that game. They were prepared to play great teams.

They blew Hahnville out like they were another hurricane coming through boutte. By 5 touchdowns. Hahnville is a "good" team. They made them look bad.

Third off you can just watch their team play each game and if you cant clearly see that they are superior than woodlawn than you need to not make any comment about the two.

I've seen both multiple times. There is no comparison.

Destrehan hasn’t played a team as good as Woodlawn all year long. Destrehan should beat Woodlawn, but you can’t take them lightly. They have more than just Rickie Collins. If you get Woodlawn on a night where they’re on, they’re tough to beat. Woodlawn has played the best teams in the state, and they are very talented.

45-21

Destrehan.

Wont be close. This isnt St. Amant, EA, or Dutchtown they are playing.

Just be back here next week after the game.

Woodlawn defense is going to get wrecked. Seen them twice. It will struggle mightily against Destrehans running attack.

You just get back here next Friday.

Can someone tell me why MaxPreps shows that Eunice forfeited their game with DeRidder, when the scoreboard says Eunice won 41-14? Is this a mistake, or did something happen to vacate the win? I've searched, and I see nothing talking about a forfeit.

You’re getting too worked up over this. Catholic and Zachary are better than Destrehan. Woodlawn almost beat Zachary, and they beat Catholic. All depends on which Woodlawn team shows up. Just because Destrehan beat up on Hahnville, doesn’t mean they’re going to run through the playoffs.

Woodlawn is a sleeper. Can not let your guard down against them, otherwise they’ll get you. They have very talented WR’s, a good RB, and some talented defensive guys. They’re more than just Rickie Collins. How do we know Destrehan is legit? They haven’t proven it yet, and it isn’t their fault either, but just the way it is.

No doubt you were at the game also. Then you see what everyone does the team is undisciplined. Any idea what was the deal with the head official? I have never seen a official at like that toward a coach much less someone like Hank.

any info on this?

Yep. Its been a great ride though.

Going from watching WM being every schools homecoming game sacrifice to being a national power in HS football was unbelievable.

Being near or at the top for nearly 25 years for a public high school in a mid-sized city in NELA is mind boggling.

There is a strong foundation at WM though. With the right coach, WM can once again become a dominate powerhouse in HS FB again.

Love him, like him or hate him, Don Shows was a downright genius. He built a HS FB program that is/was known nation-wide.

I guess you could say Don Shows was the Vince Lombardi of Louisiana HS football.

No offense, but Hahnville wasn't that good this season. I saw when they played St. James before the season and St. James beat them pretty handily, and this is a down year for St. James. There's a reason why Hahnville was eliminated in the first round.

Yeah, special teams. They gave up 2 KO returns for TDs, allowed Benton to recover 2 onside kicks, fumbled away a KO and had a punt partially blocked. Hahnville was better than their seed thanks to the DLS forfeits. Hahnville’s biggest problem is coaching right now….has been the last 5 years or so.

And, yes Destrehan won that game big, but It was 7-7 with about one and a half minutes left in the first half. Destrehan scored late in the half and then Hahnville made stupid plays and gave away a TD before the half. That completely deflated the team. Hahnville was an improved team from the Destrehan game going into the playoffs….but if you’re using that game as the benchmark for how good Destrehan is, you need to find something else.

I’m not saying Destrehan isn’t a good team, of course they are, but there’s really no good measuring stick for them from this season given how poor the district was.

I know they like to throw bombs downfield.

They are a good team with a QB that can make plays, but I was surprised to see they finished the season at 8-2. They aren’t that good.

Looking at their schedule they avoided several of the better 4A and 5A Shreveport area teams. It’s not their fault they were placed in a terrible district, or how far Evangel and Bastrop have fallen.

Byrd and Neville beat them easily. Who knows how good they are. They beat up on a bunch of bad teams and smaller schools, and weren’t competitive against the two really good teams they played.
