I’m not saying anybody is right or wrong. I’m just saying now it can just be the “evil” public schools because the private schools also made a choice to split with their vote.

Now, all the people who blame the public schools for the split can blame the private schools as well. The public schools have been made to look like the bad guy in all this. If the private schools want to pull out it is their choice.

Nonsense.

The select school have been extremely vocal in this whole ordeal that their first priority is reunification.

The LHSAA gave them an impossible ultimatum and would not even listen to a concession. That’s not an olive branch. That’s putting someone in a corner and hoping to spin the results.

In January, well over 90% of select schools will vote to get rid of the split in the four sports.

We remain the only state in the country where a group of HS athletes were forced out of competition by a bitter and misinformed majority. And the public schools own that.

Why do L/W, Karr, and Warren Easton get classified as non-select?

Things that make you go hmmmm.

Those schools were opposed to the split, they were originally place in the non select division.

I'll give credit to Karr's then principal, John Hiser, he said separate but equal is bullshite. Karr is now an open access public school, prior to Katrina it was a magnet school, if place in select division we will sue the LHSAA. The legal opinions the LHSAA received weren't favorable, so the open access charter schools were moved to the non-select division.

There are no legit champions anymore. Sorry it’s all a sham now. My son won a select state title last year and it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on. They beat up on 5-5,7-3,8-2 teams that wouldn’t have made it out of the quarterfinals on their way to a “state” title.
I hear people talking about how “good” all of these teams have gotten now and it’s just a joke. Kinder, Many, Kaplan, Accension Catholic, STM, didnt just become perrinial state championship contending juggarnauts, they eliminated their biggest competition to advancement!
The split is not good for anyone in the same way travel baseball World Series aren’t good for anyone

his is really sad news to hear. You can’t match the magic of the Superdome compared to any other venue in LA, I’m sorry.

Of all the things involved in this argument THIS is the one that’s the saddest. “Going to the Dome” was universally the goal. Everybody knew what it was and what it meant. Grown ups with their pennies in a wad have ruined a great experience for kids

Dude you can’t be that blind. It’s loser bullshite like this that makes public schools- and this ridiculous split what it is.
I went to Mamou- MAMOU- and we recruited our asses off! We recruited our halls, we recruited Ville Platte, we recruited Pine Prarie.
Furthermore, how exactly is a private school supposed to get people to come to their school voluntarily without inviting them to come?
Believe it or not, the vast majority of people send their kids to schools for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with sports. Nothing.
I send my kids to Catholic school because they can pray our loud in school and everyone else there is paying for it so they are committed to making sure their own kids take school seriously. The LCD is much higher.
Of the four kids I have in private school not one of them is a good athlete. They play on teams that are good sometimes but athletics has nothing to do with it. Guess what though- the school recruited us to attend them because they have no choice!
