Okay, and what about public schools? I'm not arguing the split was good for select revenue, I just find it difficult to believe it publics are supposedly doing better.

attendance at their post season games has stayed about the same...

the host schools send in a post season gate receipt report... with $ for the LHSAA.. .if anything.. the numbers are low... either way it's more accurate than opinions or guestimates on here.

All I can say is, trust me.

I REALLY do not know. I have read this here, often, and was a sports fan when my boys were still in school. I am still interested but that is about it. I was never on the "inside" to know anything about this stuff, factually, especially.

My boy played lax for three years which is not LHSAA sanctioned, that would be the only sport I would have even the opportunity to learn something about the goings-on at other schools. The rest of anything I "know" is from here, FNF, and various stuff published by Robin Fambrough, Jimmy Derry (we worked together at J.C.Penny, Belle Promenade in undergrad.) Louisiana Scoreboard, CCSports, and what-have-you.

The NIMBYs in the area aren't going let that go down regardless of what Tulane would want to do.
Yulman hosts high school football quite regularly. Parking is not much of an issue. When Brother Martin played a playoff game there, against McKinley two years ago, the parking lot on Claiborne Avenue was not even full, and "we" brought our regular crowd.

There really is not anything for the neighbors to complain about.

If it is for a state championship and there are TWO local schools, you might, then have a problem. TU might have to implement their game-day parking plan and use Dominican High School and St. Rita among other places for parking with shuttles going between.

Really all of the Orleans Parish schools should be select now

In Lafayette and Lake Charles you can go to pretty much any school you want to.

I played at walker high and now coach at a public school. When I played we had to play Catholic High in district and often played Park View and private schools and we never had a chance against school who can recruit. In addition, those said private schools always thought that their shite didn't stink and thought that they were better than all the public schools.

I say F the private schools. if 0-10 teams making the playoffs are a problem, then start more private schools. The split is good for both sides, you play your kind and we will play ours. It is the only way it is even close to being fair.

The above post by a public school teacher is one example of the many reasons LA finishes at the bottom when it comes to education.

Bring back LISA. There are private schools in Louisiana playing in the MAIS. They could leave them and join the selects if they brought back some form of the old LISA.

Playoff games haven’t taken a hit across the board.

However, Superdome Classic numbers are way down. Not getting as many to watch 9 games that used to watch 5.

Prep Classic used to have the bottom sections packed on Saturday. Now the end zones are empty and noticeably smaller crowds

I would think the first round games would suffer due to bad teams making it, etc.

Karr used to regularly have kids from Jefferson Parish. They probably pulled kids from Plaquemines Parish too.

Now, all the people who blame the public schools for the split can blame the private schools as well. The public schools have been made to look like the bad guy in all this. If the private schools want to pull out it is their choice. But after the vote not to play in the dome by the private schools, stop blaming the public schools only.

I agree. The private schools are the bad guys here. They should have just kept their mouth shut and kept getting screwed. How dare they show some agency.

nope, we cant at the school I teach/coach at now and we couldn't at walker either. sorry.

Coach sees a kid at park ball that he wants on his team.

Kid doesn't live in district.

Auntie lives in district.

Auntie changes a utility bill into kid's parent's name and uses that address for school.

WTF do you think that is?

So they have to commit some kind of fraud in order to “recruit”?

Do select schools have to do the same thing?

Is not Byrd in Caddo Parish a charter and playing select? Why do L/W, Karr, and Warren Easton get classified as non-select?

If a charter doesn't have open enrollment, it's a select school.

L/W, Karr, and Easton have open enrollment. They are non-select.

By open enrollment, I mean you don't have to test or meet any special rules. You just have to make it through the OneApp lottery.
