re: LHSAA regional round... the playoffs REALLY start tonight

STA had several really good teams back in the late 90's, but despite going 10-0 one season, 9-1, then 8-2, then 7-3, ect, they could never win a playoff game. They continually got worse and worse until going 0-9 in the 2008 season. Since then, they've been slowly improving. Last year, they got over the hump and won a first round playoff game. This year was the first dominant team I've seen them field since the Clinton Administration, and it's paid off in 2 playoff victories.

Everyone talks about the offense but the Gator defense has been lights out with the exception of the 2nd half vs Catholic

Lhsaa bracket shows Curtis hosting evangel and brother Martin hosting Scotlandville. Doesn't seem right. Should be either Curtis and Scotlandville hosting (higher seed) or evangel and Martin (recently traveled) hosting, but not the Curtis /Martin combo.
Edit: they've since updated it to show Curtis and Scotlandville hosting.

they were a mirror image of Kaplan. First time all year they are held under 30 points.

This would be like Deja Vu if St. Amant pulled off the upset against WM and Acadiana pulls off the upset against Zachary.
2014 playoffs
Acadiana beats Ponchatoula, St.Amant, and Zachary to make it to the dome to play Destrehan, who's seeded #1 on the other side of the bracket. Acadiana had 4 losses that year instead of 3 this year though. That means things are looking up.

That POS TE #15 for Curtis was basically trying to gouge out the eyes of that Rummel LB after the play. You can see it clearly on TV, and the announcers even pointed it out.
I said it once and I'll say it again, there is nothing Christian about that school.

I remember hearing this when West Monroe played them in week 2.

That idiot did the same thing all night long to West Monroe's defense. Both of our linebackers had to leave the game due to his cheap play. They had scratches all over their faces and scratched eyes. He is a total POS.

They have a sick and deep senior class. Like 55 kids if I remember right. Bourgeois is going to be impossible to replace. This is their one shot. Next year the teams in Ascension might all be level. Dutchtown will be better. They can't be worse--they only had like 15 seniors and maybe 2 of them will be hard to replace. It all depends on the coaching situation. EA is a wild card. If they can get consistency and good coaching and get the kids out of Gonzales Middle School, they could be really good like they were in Ruston last week.

Briggs might be the best athelete to ever play for St. amant at the pit.
Posted on 11/19/16 at 8:13 am to McCringleberryy
I was shocked Briggs missed the PAT last night. Also had what looked like a drop for a TD in the 3rd Q.

I just want that pos JT Curtis, with his broom stick legs, pot belly and his dirty players to get beat... If they meet BM in the Dome, I'll again, like I did with Jesuit, God forbid, be pulling for an original Catholic league school...
Let those scumbags go back to River Ridge with their tail between their legs on all those short busses they use....

Agreed, pulling for BM now.

I just looked at the 3A bracket and saw that seeds 1-8 all made it to the quarterfinals. Serious question: has that EVER happened?
