John Curtis 34
Rummel 20

close game must of the way, but other wise sloppy & boring. Lots of turnovers and dropped passes.

sight lines at Zephyr field sucked

the public address announcer was the worst Ive ever heard.

I saw the Mandeville melt live. It was so brutal. Up 14 with 5minleft and Destrahan's QB just got knocked out the game. They fumbled the extra point snap but heads up play by the holder and end man on the line and threw a perfect pass for the 2pt conversion

Was that Curtis' announcer, it was a joke.... It was like the guy was trying to explain football to everyone..... Best part was when they announced the opening day for the Babycakes, everyone on the Rummel side started booing....

Rummel's defense fell apart, Curtis' scored those last two touchdowns on basically 4 plays...

Rummel receiver dropped what would've been game tying td... Too many sloppy mistakes....

It had to have been a Curtis guy. On the Rummel fake punt he basically alerted their defense once it was snapped to the up back. Kinda chicken shite. He was terrible.

That is amazing.

The ending of the Destrehan-Mandeville game will be talked about for a long time.

Mandeville had that game all but wrapped up. Prevent defense kills all day

I could be wrong, but I don't think STA has ever made it passed the second round of the playoffs.

It'll probably be VERY awkward if STA won State in football while they are under Dutchtown's roof.

But they have to go through West Monroe and Acadiana JUST to get to the Dome, so that ain't happening.

If they did pull off the upset Friday, would the new home rules dictate that STA would host a semifinal against Acadiana because they're the higher seed? Because if the higher seed isn't protected, they're going to Acadiana because they're going on the road two weeks in a row. They were at Ponchatoula and next week they're at Zachary.

Yes. Semifinals are hosted by the higher seeded team.

I know a lot of people involved with football in Ascension Parish. It's been a crazy twist of fate. In four years they've gone from "I just wish we could beat Dutchtown ONE TIME" to "we're gonna win it all." I don't think they're going to win it all, and they lose more than half their team when they're eliminated, and they're going to fall back to the pack in a big way next year. But they've been waiting for tonight for literally forever.

I like that. Gives too much power to a team seeded in the teens when they face a single-digit seed in the semis, because they've probably already played two road games.

Yep. No way they get past West Monroe next weekend. And yes, STA would host Acadiana as the higher seed. Let me put it this way, if St. Amant beats West Monroe, they're getting to the dome.

I gotcha. Don't know much about ascension parish schools. Good for them.
