I watched Hahnville-Parkway last night and facebook was flooded with people saying refs cheated Hahnville in OT. Scenario was after Parkway scored, on first down HHS TE dropped a ball near the sideline then was hit late out of bounds. Ball moved up to the 5 and called 2nd down. People were saying it should have been first again. I think the call was correct. BTW, I am from Hahnville. Was this the correct call?
if play was over that is a dead ball foul, it is 2nd down. The ONLY automatic first down fouls in HS are roughing the passer, kicker, holder or snapper - period end of story.

Calais for the most part. Their underclassman QB Layne Champagne isn't really ready for this level of competition but he took a few shots until Calais took over completely. But I believe that we had 3 separate players throw passes last night after Colin Dore went down.

I replied to owl on this.. but there was an odd one in another game.

Team is punting from near goal line, kicker muffs punt, defense muffs ball through back of end zone - touch back first down for kicking team

Thanks, I guess Lakeshore wished the starter wouldn't have went down.
Possibly lol. But he had scored our first two rushing TDs in the 1st quarter. Sometimes you gotta pick your poison.

That’s what I said; facebook friends didn’t like it but it was correct.

We had that last year and the PA guy wanted to argue it over the PA system - that ended quickly

Cecilia's receiving corps is stacked with talent also but it is widely overlooked.

THAT, my friend, is the understatement of the year. They approached twenty penalties to Brother Martin's one or two. I think BM only had one in the entire first half, I think they had a couple false starts in the second.
The line judge on the BM side let them get in his ear and basically call em for him. The Trojans played sloppy. Two bad games in a row for us. You can get away with it against BM but not Neville for sure. I doubt you can get away with it against Catholic. In the fourth quarter you were seeing ASH have about 7 guys of the 22 in on both sides of the ball that were either in for injury or performance, so a little gelling will take time...but damn it was painfully bad.

The Royal kid for BM is fast, almost as good as 4 from WM. But the BM kid had a pick caught in front of him and just quit on the play. He couldve easily tracked our saftety down but didnt even move. I was shocked.

I kinda thought the ball should have been moved to the goalline, isn't that a 15yrd penalty? I thought I saw something like that in the past, I could be wrong though.

DD you are correct though, that dropped passed did cost the game, along with a few other costly mistakes.

Not in HS it is half the distance from that range. outside the 30 it is 15 and inside it is half the distance

I don’t know. But they obviously interpreted false starts in a manner no one wise had all year. In video you see no one move, but maybe weren’t set for a couple seconds. There is no go fast w them at crew.

And it didn’t matter, twice BM was running the 12th off in front of said line judge, no call

I know for a fact no one up here works officials like JC did last year or BM did last night. It is non stop. And it seemed to work. Again, we earned most of em I am sure. Sloppy.

You just don’t see it like that in our regular season schedule

So that’s where the Chalmette/Neville crew was last night

They also execute the WR screen with absolute perfection. They will go left to right with that shite & march down the field on you with ease. Pretty impressive.

I like Neville's chances in this one....

Depends on whether Zeland is catching the ball and how much Barbes QB runs

We barely managed to score in the 2nd half and had a ton of 3 & outs. Just depends on if we can keep the sticks moving.

Neville will score next week. That won’t be an issue. It’s stopping 10 and the QB. Barbe will score too. I expect Neville to win in a 56-42 type game.

No way Neville wins a shoot out. Their offense is not better than Barbe’s. They will have to limit Barbe’s rushing attack to even stay in the game. And watch out, Barbe can throw it too when needed. Don’t see Neville slowing down a very hot Bucs team. Nobody wants to play them right now except maybe Ruston.

9 times outta 10 for high school football, when people are saying this it’s because they don’t know the rules

It’s honestly mind blowing how much this happens
