No. 12 Opelousas at No. 5 West Feliciana

What can West Fel expect from Opelousas? Looks like Opelousas has played a pretty easy schedule except for Cecilia and St. Amant, but they won like they should have against the easy teams. And they battled Cecilia and St. Amant. A dangerous 12th seed.

Very big and athletic on both sides of the ball. 2 big, physical running backs with good speed. Qb is the most dynamic runner compared to the running backs and a pretty good passer, but more dangerous when things break down and he takes off. Defensively they have so much length along with their size and speed it’s a challenge to get outside. If you can make them punt a few times, you can block punts and change the game that way. If they are able to grind out first downs without breaking big runs, they will make the game very short and severely limit your offensive possessions. Good team and well coached, but obviously they can be beat. When you see them in person though, they’re physically impressive, lol.

Open enrollment. They can pull from the entire parish.

They had a huge lead vs Walker and it turned right before half.

Walker had St Amant on the ropes late in the 4th, but a TO when they were running the clock out to secure the W, was very costly.

I’d say Mandeville has a decent chance, especially at home.

Not anymore.

Legit question, has the LHSAA actually published anything stating that higher teams are home in the quarterfinals? I’ve looked in the LHSAA Handbook for this season and it has all of the previous text struck through regarding how to determine the home team for the quarters, but there’s nothing inserted in its place.
