Or in the case of DII AND DIII nonselect, EVERY SINGLE HIGHER SEED IS ON THE ROAD. So fricking stupid

This is high school, not college. High school teams don’t have big enough budgets to make multiple long road trips in a one month span.

Do you know how expensive it is to pay for charter buses for not just the football team, but band, cheer teams, and pep squads?

Look at Division 1 non-select for example. Denham Springs just traveled north of Shreveport to Benton last week. Now, if the home team was based solely by seeding, Denham Springs would have to turn around and travel to Ruston this week.

“But they should have played better in the regular season.” The power rating system, while being as good as you can hope for, is not perfect. Just in this thread you see where some lower division teams played up in the regular season and lost games against really good teams. They are far better than their 17 seed they currently have. Why should they have to travel every round simply because their opponent played a weak schedule and racked up wins?

The LHSAA doesn’t pay for the travel for the teams. Some high school programs would legit go broke if they had to pay for multiple long road trips in the playoffs. Even school buses aren’t free. The team still has to pay the driver, gas, team meals...

Why do teams use charter buses other than the storage space and a smoother ride? I was at a softball playoff game once at CHS and saw a yellow school bus for a team from Shreveport so don’t tell me they couldn’t use them… and they beat us so it clearly didn’t affect their performance

take school buses not charters.... heck I remember being a ball boy for a 10-0 team that was ranked #4 and got a first round by(long before wildcards), they went on road for their regional round game 110 miles. then 200 for q final... it happens...

I never took a charter bus to a playoff game., nor did my son(recent grad) and quit buying 3 sets of new uniforms every year and 3 helmets.

Ruston coach is not like last week's opponent.

I watched Catholic v UHigh earlier this year. The CHS QB and WR had their way easy in the passing game v UHigh. Don’t know who Newman has catching the ball, but I would think Arch is a complete next level from the CHS QB.

I think difference in this game is UHIgh will just line up and pound the ball with the K Moses kid running the ball. He is a beast

u high d line not like any N has seen all year.

N defense not like catholics

any of you not impressed with Manning... He looks better than his two uncles did as seniors and has played tougher compettion

I mentioned school buses aren’t free either.

I agree with this. A lot of wasted money on black jerseys for teams that don’t even have black in their school colors.

school buses are significantly cheaper...

a couple years back at a playoff game in which the visitors had a 2.5 hour trek, the cheerleaders and dance team had a charter bus. everyone else had school buses. a few band and football parents were going off on principal at halftime because the cheer/dance girls had a charter and not their kids. Principal exclaimed "the bus was donated for them" and then one guy steps up and says "I paid7,500 for that bus and if I'm paying for it - my daughters are riding on it"

the team won by 3 td's won in the dome next week, cheer dance still only ones with charters.

Saw him against Hahnville and wasn’t impressed. I will say, though, Hahnville didn’t do much to make him do things to impress me either.

Same here. I thought the TE/DE Texas commit for Newman was the best football player on the field. His int for a TD was great.

If you have never been, the school is in the middle of the country. No town or anything.
The people are not as obnoxious as Erath.
We don't drive a semi truck next to the stadium and blast the horn if we Score, and we are not as trashy as Kaplan.

Glad to hear it. Erath’s fans were embarrassing. I look forward to a good game tomorrow.

Probably going to check out Catholic-Karr. Think this is kind of a Bills-Chiefs situation (though neither of those teams made the Super Bowl, I think whoever wins this likely wins D1)

Don't insult my Ben Franklin Falcons....we were ballers! Slightly better than most teams' scout team.

Brother Martin may end up winning state with the easier road to the title game.
