Looking like #10 for the Bucs

Nothing in 5A should be split. Big schools have enough freaking players. If somebody can’t compete, move them down.
A handful of 5 a schools are the real reason we have a split
The ones that were tired of ECA and didn’t want JC back at the 2004 meetings

JC never wanted to play in 5A. They always stopped at the second highest level. Had to keep their easy runs to the Dome.

bullshite. The goal was always to try and get in the Catholic League but those pussies, except for Aug wouldn’t schedule them for years.

We’ve got about 30 years of history to prove that JC never moved up to the state’s highest level of competition. At least Evangel went all the way to 5A. JC would chose to stop at 4A (3A up until 1992 when La. went to 5 classifications)

You weren’t at the 2003 and 2004 meetings.... that’s when play in class was created and they were working on a way to be 5a - but didn’t want A shitty district.

Not so fast, Shaw played em plenty times too...
Some were willing to give them 5a for football only back then - some didn’t want them in their district. And some were sick of eca too(not just in Nola)

I was at that game tonight. Along with most of the others there. Barbe would have ten run ruled every other team at the ballpark today. The way their pitcher composed himself after the first couple innings was REALLY impressive. And the kid is a sophomore. I bet the Mississippi State Coach is giddy watching that shite.

If Curtis wanted to be 5A all those years they would have gladly played EJ, WJ, Higgins, Bonnabel, Ehret, etc. all those years and took on the Catholic League at playoff time

quote:a district has never had to want you back then or ever in order to allow you to play up into 5A football. Curtis would have signed to play up and been put in someone's district. Anything they say otherwise are lame excuses like J.T. worrying about his girls sports.
neither district wanted them..... jeff parish, orleans or catholic league
Now what could have happened to keep Curtis and ECA down if the other 5A principals had wanted to, was threaten to put Curtis in the Shreveport district and ECA somewhere in NOLA. That would have been absurd, but technically it could have been on the table.
(And before the power point era there was not much benefit to adding another strong team to your district who should have been in a lower class. Curtis would have basically guaranteed you an L and took one of your districts playoff spots without you getting much benefit for playing them

quote:no they didn't but some principals in those districts wielded a lot of political clout - hence the stupidity of play in class.... everyone knew that would lead to a split -If we never have the play in class BS - which was aimed directly at JC and ECA - we never have the split.. 10 seasons of them beating up on the schools with less resources after being banished by the schools with the most resources is way more to blame that the pissed off 2a principals.

Curtis didn’t want to move up to 5A for years, until about after hurricane katrina. They couldn’t compete in other sports, despite winning state championships in baseball, basketball, T&F, and softball lol

I heard that vacancy was imminent but he was waiting for the new school/field first. Guess he had enough of the BS too!

quote:wrong.. they wanted to move up for football only and that was repeatedly shot down until 2002-2003 it started gaining steam.. and the crowd that was ECA weary was also JC weary.....and you know that.... letting them go up for football only would have been wrong though....
