3rd and xx at the end, a chop block on a Central def. lineman, really?
That's what Central DEs have done for years in order to try and gain an advantage on pulling linemen. There were three called in the 2010 game vs. Catholic.

prob. Easton Roth, Jay's father... i know because I listened to their Rummel/Chalmette archived broadcast the other day just to hear how Ken Trahan would build us up as a legit opponent even though we barely belonged on the same field as them

So 3 15 yard penalties and us Wildcats still stomped that arse?

This would be a cut block not a chop block. Can't cut a pulling Lineman in high school

Good wins for the 7-2A. Now it gets real, time for a tour of North Louisiana. Episcopal gets the worst of the deal-Winnfield is rolling, we get to experience Calvary's field turf. If Mahaffey doesn't get too cute with the playcalling and our defense shows up like they did last night, we've got a shot. We need to ride our horse behind that O line and keep them off the field. QB play and our pass defense will ultimately determine how far we can go.

Wish I could give a better rundown for Calvary, but they had 67 yards total and were shut out against WM in week 2. I do remember saying they had the biggest lines at the 2a level I'd seen since some Curtis teams of the past.

The Redemptorist folks said we should be able to match them physically, which they couldn't. If they are big up front, it will be strength versus strength. This team also probably has the most speed a U-High team has ever had. Should be a good game.

Any Livonia fans on here? Is the running back being recruited, he was a monster. Also I couldn't believe how big that team was, everybody was huge.

I wonder what % of St. Aug's playoff losses are by 1 or 2 points.
Very large percentage... Even performing like crap, we still have a shot... For some odd reason we constantly forget what got us there, regardless who the HC is... Oh well, we'll try again next year...
Good luck:

Winnfield beat St. Thomas Aquinas last night 41-0. We had 441 yards on the ground. TB Trey Gilbert (offer from Memphis) had 258 on 9 carries. Alonzo Moore (offers from Nebraska, Mississippi State) had two scores and a 75 yard punt return called back on a phantom block in the back call.
Our defense was brutal last night, led by MLB Frank Swafford (interest from Arkansas - ugh). In two playoff games, we have outscored our opponents 111-0. Don't know much about Episcopal, but we look forward to hosting them next Friday night. Should be a lot of fun after watching LSU dismantle the Hogs that afternoon.

Episcopal has a better team than last year. Most of the offense is running via Mike Henry and mix in some passes to Bridgewater. They have a few other guys that can hurt you as well. The game comes down to defense though. EHS has a pretty damn solid defense but, I don't think they have seen a running game the likes of Winnfield.

I haven't seen a Winnfield team this good in my life. They will beat episcopal by 20+. book it.
