Watch out for Live Oak to make a deep run in 5A and push Barbe for the title. Very talented team with plenty of pop in its lineup and arms on the mound.

St. Amant about to make a run. If we win the first 2 rounds, we’ll probably get Barbe in the 3rd round.

Denham is awful this year
Live oak is very good and has a shot but will have to get a little help from Barbe
Don’t sleep on Zachary either on given day they can play with anyone
It’s baseball upsets can always happen
St amant and Dutch town are good just not as battle tested as live oak or Zachary

EA has a good ace. If he is pitching against Zachary, he could give them a chance.

It’s not a typical Zachary team but they’re still Zachary. Can’t play poor against them

Could be a Barbe vs Live Oak finals. Barbe will be very hard to beat with their pitching depth in a best of three series.

That’s only rounds 2,3. Rounds 1, 4, and 5 are single elimination. Barbe is still Barbe and will always be the favorite.

Live Oak will win it all. Count on it.

EA kills themselves with their defense.. whole lot of errors. Might limit the chance at upset over Zachary. However, Zachary is not as strong as usual.

St. Amant will most likely face Barbe in Quarters, but just don’t have the arms to outmatch them.

A possible Live Oak vs Barbe state title game will be a must see with the talent on that field.

A) lol at 12 state champions

B) i get its only a half game difference so its really splitting hairs and not that big of a deal but something about north wester hosting patterson with their records doesnt feel right.

No. 17 Patterson (15-15) at No. 16 North Webster (14-15)

Do they play Monday or Tuesday? He threw Thursday and probably wouldn't pitch today. But he beat St. Amant and Catholic. If he doesn't pitch against Zachary, they probably get rolled.

This still makes zero sense.

You are correct. I just felt that Barbe had a "better than average" chance of winning round 1 with a 1 seed vs. a 32 seed at home. Then you get into rounds 2 and 3 (best of 3). I was simply stating that it will be very difficult to keep Barbe out of the semi's, after that then you are left with the four best teams with one game to win in Semis/Finals and anything can happen then.

If you went best of 3 every round, the postseason would end after school ended and you might have played 15 playoff games.

The disparity between teams in round 1 is often great enough that it won't really matter.

And if you win 2 best-ofs in a row, you probably proved that you have a deep pitching staff and have earned a chance to win.

this is what Texas does... their state titles are the second week of June. Their regular season doesn’t even end until May 4th

Fun playoff game(s) of the week:

McKinley played 6 district games last week because of weather. They were outscored 94-6.

This week since they are in division 1 they have a best-of-3 with Brother Martin. BM swept Jesuit and beat Holy Cross, Live Oak and St. Amant. They should just forfeit.
