. I could very easily see Destrehan going to the dome and knocking off Zachary.

They’re on the same side of the bracket.

Not from what I've seen.

Seems lots of folks haven't watched them play. Best destrehan team since 2007.

They can compete with any team in Louisiana. It is ridiculous how much depth they have. Scott must be attracting all the talent to the school now.

Nice! Will see you Friday. My first time coaching there. I’m excited

What are the rules about travelling (visiting teams)? Do they travel two weeks in a row?

With all of the teams that now get byes in the 1st round, do they have to travel their first game if there is an upset by the visiting/travelling team in the 1st round?

No higher seed gets to host their first game. Semifinal is now always at higher seed, I call it the Byrd rule from 2011.

Maybe.

- 1st round has higher seeds at home.

- 2nd round is based on 1st round. If one team traveled in the 1st round and the other didn’t, then the team that traveled in the first gets a home game in the second. If both traveled in the 1st round, then higher seed hosts.

- 3rd round is hosted by the team that has played the most away games. If both played the same # of away games, then higher seed hosts.

- Semifinal hosts are the higher seeds

- If a team had a 1st round BYE, they host their first game.

question - do all the private schools in LA play in their own divisions or private/public play together if they want?

Does Southside not have a stadium yet? I was just told this morning that they're playing EA Thursday night at Teurlings.

Private and public are intermingled in districts and regular season play. For the playoffs, the public/non-select schools play in Classes 1A-5A and private/select schools play in separate brackets in Divisions I-IV. This is why Louisiana has 9 state champions in football currently.

They do not. All of their home games have been at Teurlings.

It depends on the structure of the admissions system. There are some public schools in the select divisions - mainly magnet schools.

This is very helpful.

Using an example - Catholic BR should get two home games before the finals, correct? First round bye = host. Semifinal = host. Correct? Or is there an additional caveat at play?

That would be correct as I understand things.

Teurlings is getting screwed by De La Salle forfeitures. They have to face them in the first round.

And on the 3A side, I feel sorry for poor Kaplan and what Madison Prep is going to do to them.

What seed would De La Salle be if they hadn’t forfeited?
