What is the scoop here, thought they were all going to be Varsity eligible next year

There is no scoop here. The person that made the statement "the big kids will not make it back to St. Michaels next year" doesn't have a clue of what he is talking about. All THREE kids will be eligible for Varsity play next season.

Are the 3 young men skilled? I know they are TALL! Ha. Just curious as to if they are equally good.

St. Michaels is well coached…. That should be a good combination if these kids are good too.

6'11 Junior (25/26 season) Is very skilled offensively. can knock down the 3 with consistency. Good ball handling skils. Good free throw shooter. Good footwork.

6'10 Sophmore (25/26 season) Power Forward, Strong rebounder, can hit the mid-range jumper.

6'11 Sophmore (25/26 season) Very athletic, highest upside of the 3. Can defend all FIVE positions on the court, quick feet, 7ft wing span, (he was measured at LSU baskeball camp last summer) just learning the game.

My thinking is if they were good, especially at the height of 6'10", they wouldn't be playing at St. Michaels. They might be decent high school players because of their height, but they're likely nothing special.

So tell me wise one, where would they be playing instead of St. Michael?

They will be at another school that is better known for basketball. If they play AAU, someone will get them to transfer.

That’s just my opinion.

Boys basketball is the only sport that is well coached at that school.

To be fair, St. Michaels did produce an NBA 1st round pick.. Doing quick math in my head, it may be the last one from BR (but could easily be missing someone, I did not look anything up)

They are ok. As another poster mentioned … if they were that talented, a prep school would I found them already.

I watched them play a (uncharacteristically weak) Walker team. They played , or 2of them, played JV. They were decent. Big and athletic, but no real basketball skills that stand out.

They would’ve a force in LHSAA , however.

IMG, Monteverde, Linq Academy, Prolific prep, Oak Hill…. That’s just a few without googling.

3 of the 4 Class 5A Quarterfinal Games are within 30 minutes of each other. Games at Zachary, Central, and Walker (Denham Springs). Why is Denham playing at Walker instead of their gym. That is strong representation of Baton Rouge Basketball.

Yes, right now they are decent high school players. Mind you, they have played basketball for only TWO YEARS. So of course, they have to get adjusted to the game here. Just imagine if they started playing at the age of 8-9 like kids over here in America.

One thing you can't deny is the sheer raw athletic ability. That is if you've seen them play.

They haven't been here a full year yet. Give the kids a chance to develop doing this spring and summer.
