OK, they aren't doing the two site thing for the boys. Maybe that was just for the girls since nobody gives a shite about that.

If you're talking about the recent proposal that passed for select/non select, I think that is for next academic year and I think only for football.

Girls and boys have been playing at different sites for at least the last few years if not forever. All the girls Semis on will be at Rapides Coliseum this year, I think? Boys at Burton.

I know they've been seperate. But someone mentioned semi's being in a different spot than the finals. Like they did 5-6 years ago. I know the boys are at Burton.

Agreed. This is what happens when SJW administrators and travel ball dads run a sports organization.

Rummel has beaten the number two seed in their bracket. So not like they are horrible.

It can be fixed but the LHSAA has to pick a side. Either recruiting is legal or it isn’t and it’s actually enforced among select and non select. I know for 100% fact that a smaller private school has recruited at least 2 of their players. The schools that the 2 kids left turned it into LHSAA but nothing was done. Hell I wish they’d just open it up and let us recruit. It’s better than having selectively enforced rules.

Never said they didn’t my friend.

Edit- that being said I’ve coached at both. Much more prevalent in private schools. Also more prevelant in public school in areas with deseg cases bc of the minority majority transfer rules.

look recruiting is recruiting. It's always happened. It will always happen. It also comes down to what you can prove. LCA for example. Widely known they recuit. None of the schools in our area really want anything to do with them. The pastor isn't shy about it either. If nobody could prove Galen Alexander was recruited and was somehow granted ability to play right away at LCA. Then you just have to cheat better than they do.

Both sides do it, but it's not widespread enough to fundamentally change the entire structure of a system that affects thousands of students.

It reeks of pettiness, jealousy and poor sportsmanship.

And for a state with such a shitty education system, the fact that they are ballsy enough to penalize students for wanted a better education is a joke.

just my .02. If as a parent you want a better education for your kids, then plan ahead, and move them to the desired school, feeder school well ahead of time. So there are no issues. Do it the right way. Don't wait till your kid becomes a stud athlete, and problems develop between the parents/student, and either the school or coach. The problem in most cases is that most instances is a kid is a stud athlete in Jr high. Allow coaches to come in and start picking who they want, and then the recruiting starts. Parents get caught up, send their kid somewhere. It doesn't work out, then what? You have to move totally out of an attendance zone to avoid sitting, and who is usually there waiting.....a private school, or a diploma factory "academy".

It’s more widespread than you think. I’ve been in this profession more than 10 years. I’ve coached at public and private schools. It happens all over all the time.

It's way more convoluted than that, with variables such as where you live, what middle school you go to, etc.

If I plan to send my child to a private high school, not matter when I make the choice, where I live or what middle school he goes to should not matter.

And technically every single student at every single private school was recruited there in some form or fashion, athlete or non-athlete.

I've seen kids in some shitty school situations have their lives turned around by getting "recruited" to a private school.

The truth is that talent recruits and attracts talent... Just like college.
