What about a new debate:

What will be the better district—LC/Sulphur/Lafayette or the new Ascension/Livingston district? They had 6 of the top 9 this year.

We just leaving out the one with Central, Catholic, and Zachary? That top 3 will compete with anyone

They’re good too. Catholic is D1 though.

That new LP/AP district will be tough if Walker stays relevant.

EA needs to get better quickly or they’re gonna have a bad time in this district.

The problem with the EBR district is that you have 3 haves and 3 have nothings.

TorNation Thanks for the game link. I was able to catch the last few innings.

Glad I could help. Great day for high school baseball. Watched Sulphur/Zachary game 2 then crossed the river for the doubleheader and watched St Amant/Barbe game 3. Definitely 2 great games.

of the AP schools they have the last football win over Catholic and likely have more playoff wins that either D or SA in the last decade.

I meant baseball.

EA should win the district in football and finish 2nd in basketball on the boys side.

EA could go 0-10 or 0-15 in that district in Baseball! That is based on how many games they play! Coach Keowen may coach them to a win or two. He is that good of a coach. But talent wise its bad!

EA upset Zachary in the playoffs last year. All you need is that one good pitcher and they could be competitive again. Easier said than done over there because the talent level isn’t there like it used to be.

It will be interesting, once the new high school opens in Prairieville, how that effects the talent at all 3 5A AP high schools

For sure it seems it would level out the enrollment. Right now Dutchtown is over 2500. St. Amant is 2200. Think EA is over 2100.

If Prairieville pulls Prairieville and Galvez, Dufchtown and STA will both take a big hit, especially in baseball. They will take a hit in all sports. EA depends on how much of Central gets in. EA will take the smallest hit.

Most likely scenario (my uninformed guess based on geography)

Dutxhtown gets Dutchtown and Bluff
STA gets STA, Lake and some of Galvez (Lakeside?)
EA gets Gonzales and most of Central
Prairieville gets Prairieville, half of Galvez and part of Central

Dutchtown make take a hit athletically, but with two quality feeder schools, one being the top in the state, and a better teacher/student ratio, the school should excel even more academically than it already does.

I think both St. Amant and Dutchtown will take a hit in athletics, when Prairieville High opens.

You don’t think they’ll give Prairieville all of Galvez?

Lakeside is way out there, isn’t it? Basically Port Vincent.

Dutchtown will be fine academically but Prairieville will be very good with the Prairieville/Oak Grove kids.

Walker has some quality kids coming in next year so they should be relevant the next few years.
