I hate this “everyone gets a trophy” happy horseshite.

I’m sure the next step is separating sports like Cross Country because 2A publics are tired of getting assrammed by Episcopal for 20+ years straight.

For those saying Mylik Wilson is the best basketball player they have ever seen

Actually I said he “may be the best I’ve seen play in person”. Putting him up there with the likes of Lonnie Cooper, Scotty Thurman, Brandon Dean, Mike Smith etc. I didn’t say he’s the best player in the state, however their are others that are saying that. And it’s pretty much a consensus he’s the best Jr. in the state. The kid is badass.

I also saw Brandon Dean and Mike Smith...

Smith was the best Pro Prospect out of North Louisiana outside Marcus Fizer I had seen. I did also see Fizer play and Milsap at a tournament..

At the time they were in high school Fizer I knew could go pro, but Milsap wasnt close to being what you see today. His game has grown leaps and bounds along with his size becoming sleaker and leaner.

Mike Smith could do it all and had the height to play in the league. He just could not get out of his own way.

ULM needs to go all on for Wilson at Rayville.

so does Louisiana College and Centenary

Wilson ends up at LSU to replace Darryl Edwards IMO, very smart kid and will be one of the Top-5 shooters in the class of 2019. By the way not taking anything away from Rayville very good team.

He was a senior my freshman year at WM. First time it gets cold he walks in with a letterman jacket with "Mr. Smith" on the back.

I didn't realize who he was until basketball season started. Best I've ever seen in the area by far. Like you said, just couldn't get out of is own way.

Actually, Rayville and Ouachita did not play at Ouachita.

Rayville beat Ouachita at Rayville by 7 in the Rayville Tournament. Beat them again by about 13 in the West Monroe Tournament. Did not get to play each other in the Ouachita Tournament because Ouachita lost in the semi-finals.

For transparency, I am a Ouachita fan. However, I don't think we would have beaten Rayville in the Ouachita Tournament, either.

Can you add something intelligent to the conversation instead of repeating the same stupid talking points we always hear?

You mom says “hi” and to remember to bring home a gallon of milk.

The expansion of the split to include basketball and baseball is deeply flawed.

The main reason a football split gained traction was that a certain group of schools (JCCS, Evangel) was winning an inordinate number of titles amongst accusations of recruiting and no one wanted to be stuck with them as a result.

Basketball championships tended to be more split. Even though you would end up with some powerhouse schools those tended to be both public and private.

Baseball is a similar case. Parkview may wreck shite in 3A but publics like Zachary have won a lot of titles too.

It comes down to the same shite as the original football split, which is a principal getting in an uproar because their kids got stomped when it was “their year” to win.

West Monroe may have made a name for themselves after he left and two of the Kings, but those years WM produced the two freakiest athletes I have ever seen in high school--Shawn King and Mike Smith in both sports respectively. And they equally could not get out of their own way to success in their craft.

I also recognize Smart is the best player in the state. The Wilson kid is too short (although he is taller than 6'2 as listed on 247) to play combo guard. Unless he hits a growth spurt this sumner he needs to refine his game and play point guard strictly while increasing his quickness and vertical.

If he is motivated enough he can do so. One reason I hate the AAU circuit. In the summer these kids could better develop their physical prowess by dialing in their conditioning and athleticism. God I hate AAU.

I don’t know man, he caught an oop last night with his head at the rim then threw down a wicked 360 on a fast break. He got some pretty serious hops. I would think bulking him up would be one of the main concerns. He’s skinny as a rail.

Landry is a good team, but they don't want no problems with Peabody
