Texas State just played in and won their first bowl game ever last month.

TJ Finley had a decent year throwing for 3400 yards 24 TDs to 8 ints at a 67.4% completion rate.

He was set to return but Texas State decided they needed another QB so they bring in Jayden de Laura from Arizona who himself had a solid 2022 season but was injured last year and was subpar in spotty appearances.

TJ apparently didn’t like them bringing in someone to compete for a starting job so he decided to transfer to WKU. (No chest)

Now it comes out Jayden de Laura has sexual assault allegations from high school. Students protest and now he’s withdrawn from Texas State

Their other back up Malik Hornsby decided to transfer as well when de Laura was brought in.

The 3 remaining QBs on their roster have no college experience except for one drive in garbage time.

They cover them on the local fox news here in Austin and I find the whole thing hilarious

If he wins the job there it's a better program that's put some QBs in the league recently. Tx St playing itself could be a blessing in disguise for him.

It’s a little weird to take such pleasure in Texas State’s misfortune. I’ve always liked GJ Kinne but I don’t think about Texas State much.

Pretty impressive to have 3 quarterback transfers from the power 5. Even more impressive to lose them all in a short span.

They'll be fine. They'll get a decent QB that is mad and transfers after spring practice.

I don’t see what Texas state did wrong. If tj Finley got busted for some crime and they didn’t bring in anyone else people would have be laughing at them for not doing so.

If Hornsby was their backup quarterback they definitely needed to bring in another one.

I do. But regardless, it was around 4 years ago. Is he not allowed to go to college? Is that the role of Texas State, to disallow students who are alleged to have committed crimes?

He was a minor and it was a civil case from 5 years ago. He’s not a convicted rapist.
