Baseball is hands down the easiest game for a college team to beat a pro one. Think about all of the great college prospects we've seen in the recent past and how they have translated so quickly.Bregman, benintendi, swanson, judge. And think about how many elite college pitchers there are. You've got guys in college who can hit triple digits nowadays. Hell when the royals won the world series thethey had a reliever that pitched in the ws who also pitched in the Cws a few months before. If a good pitcher is on for 1 day a college baseball team can absolutely beat a pro team. Yes the thread about Duke beating Cleveland has me triggered.

I didn't know all those guys were on the same college team. You learn something new everyday.

They don't have to be. You think oregon state last year wouldve went 0-162 against big league clubs? No they wouldve probably won around 20 to 30 games I'd say

The top 3% of high school players go straight to the pros. Every single MLB pitcher throws in the 90’s and every team has a guy that can throw in the high 90’s. I don’t think the CWS champs could beat a AAA team

where are you getting your statistics? You think most college teams dont have guys that throw in the 90s? The 2012 Arkansas Razorbacks had a closer that through 98 and a starter that threw 96-97. You dont think if both of those guys have their stuff they cant shut a AAA team down even once in an entire season? I mean hell look at Aaron NOLA. You think his last year at LSU that team couldn't win a single game against a AAA team?

You start off arguing a college team could beat an MLB team and then ask about AAA teams. Will your next post be about AA ball?

Then it should be easy for you to produce the list of elite college pitchers that went to bigs and dominated.

MLB teams lose to college teams in ST. How is this a debate? It already happens. Baseball is the one sport where you really on need one guy to get hot to compete.

and that's not nearly the same thing as playing a regular season game that matters. I am one of the biggest drum bangers on the narrative of baseball being random. I believe that in totality. But even I wouldn't be shocked to see a college team go 0-162

Maybe if reauxly gets in this thread he could give his observations on dudes fresh out of college and how he thinks they would do

The real 25 man roster MLB team only plays an inning or 2 in those games. The rest of those games are filled with minor leaguers of all levels in the system, including 17 year olds fresh off the boat. If a 25 man roster MLB team played in all 9 innings in those games against the college teams then they would win every single time.

I know my college baseball program would definitely go 0-162 against any major league club.

Memphis still that bad?

I think they’d at least win 20 games vs a ML Team of 162. Just due to randomness of pitching and hitting.
