I wasn't saying his injury was a game changer, I am saying he is their only rim protector. Lebron can get to the basket at will and knows he's going to finish when he gets there. When they sag off, he kills them from the outside. He has it all rolling right now.

Yep. When he makes jumpers, he's unguardable.

At this point I cant help buy wonder how dominant LeBron would have been if he was born earlier. In the 80s and 90s, he would have been unstoppable with illegal defense

Lebron has been so much fun to watch but I am pulling for GS so it is strange.

I think that the Cavs have kinda figured out GS. Let Harrison Barns shoot wide open 3s and not Klay or Curry.

I also have to give it up for the Cavs playing so disciplined. On Offense they kept passing until they got the match up they wanted. They are abusing Curry in the post.

Or when the GS puts in Varejao to really just not guard him unless he's in the paint. When they bring Varejao outside he's not a threat.

Actually, that series is kinda like this one. All of the sudden Dallas just couldn't miss. Jason Terry was otherworldly down the stretch.

Lebron just acted like he didn't want to be there. Had dominated Chicago and played well the first two games of the finals, then went into total DGAF mode. Here's an artice from back then.

quote:

Scoring eight points in the most important playoff game of your career doesn't help. Neither does playing without any sense of urgency or purpose for a solid week's worth of basketball at the league's greatest stage.

The Miami Heat held a 2-1 series lead before James turned into a completely different player. After so many weeks of being nearly unstoppable by either being aggressive on his drives or shooting the ball with confidence from deep, LeBron appeared to be a completely different player in his final three games of the 2010-'11 season. He was tentative, hesitant and didn't possess the look of a player that wanted to secure a title.

After nearly a year's worth of work, James had let the perfect opportunity slip through his fingers. He was just as awful in this year's Finals as he was in 2007 when his Cleveland Cavaliers got swept by the San Antonio Spurs. This time however, he had no excuse because he had teammates that he could defer to if he needed significant help. The only problem was that when they needed him most and he failed to come through.

He would have been the same player, IMO. The 80s and 90s were physical AF and had dominant big men / post play. After a few drives someone is putting his arse on the ground hard with zero repercussions.

I'll gladly eat my crow. And say LeBron has been playing off the charts. Hope the Cavs can pull it out in Game 7.

It's amazing that those guys like MJ survived the era.

C'mon man Lebron be outphysicaling fools at will.

Just imagine if LeBron was able to play that physical as well. Scary thought, LeBron being able to give you a hard foul going in got a layup instead of blocking you shot.

I said he would be the same. He would be no better or worse. He's not going to just get to the basket at will was my point.

LeBron would have placed Rambis and Laimbeer in comas.

The zero repercussions idea appears to be a myth. Free throw rates per field goal were significantly higher.

This is illogical to me. He likes driving to the basket. That is what he is comfortable doing. It was way way way easier to drive to the basket and score back then. It is safe to say that era fit his game better
