I agree thats the reputation. And i also agree that his late game numbers are not good. Just disagree that it means he isnt the best overall player.

I have a question for everyone, if the Buffalo Bills field goal kicker makes the field goal in the super bowl is Jim Kelly a better QB? If Jordan misses one of his last second shots, is the Mailman a better player today?

Y'all are saying what re Lebrons stats at the end when they lose? What are any of the greats stats when they lose? Probably not as good as when they win.
Basically you're saying if Lebron doesn't have a great game in the Postseason the Heat won't win, well color me shocked...

. LeBron apologists can't stand not making this about Kobe.

Kobe doesn't play for the Heat.
Kobe didn't have a primetime television special to announce his move in Free Agency.
Kobe didn't have a parade to boast the future of not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5... but 6 or 7 rings.
Kobe doesn't have a tattoo on his back, "The Chosen One"

As of June 5th, 2012, I didn't realize Kobe was still participating in the 2012 NBA Playoffs.

What is your point?

LeBron's #s the last 5 minutes of games Kobe is on the severe downside of his career and has never been the physical specimen Lebron is. Bring in Kobe's stats from when he was 25-27 and well compare

25 year old Kobe's stats last 5 minute vs Pistons in the Finals

Game 1: 2-3 FG 2-2 from the line 1 turnover no rebounds or assist 6 points
Game 2: 2-4 FG 1 rebound 1 turnover no assist 4 points
Game 3: 0-1 FG 1 turnover no assist or rebounds 0 points
Game 4: 2-4 FG 2-2 from the line 2 turnovers no assist no rebounds 6 points
Game 5: 0-2 FG no assist or rebounds 0 points (Lakers lose by 20)

Look as much as it pains me to admit it. I think Lebron is the best player in the league. But I think there is more to being the best than putting up a shitload of points, rebounds, assists. I just think there is more to a GOAT than great stats. That is just my opinion, and he's going to have to do alot more than what he's done in runaway wins. He's going to have to win unwinable games despite his team and the opposing team. He's just going to have to will his team to wins in improbable situations. shite all the greats have done time and time again. I think that is the reputation everyone has expected that he has yet to deliver on. today's era is way too consumed with stats, and they often make the mistake of equating that to production IMO.

still averaging 30 and 10+ for the playoffs

This is the point. He is by far the most physically gifted basketball player ever. He can flat out dominate the game. Yet he is such a mental midget with no heart that he can't get it done consistently when it counts. He simply just doesn't get it. You can see it in his body language, facial expressions, interview comments, etc. He has all the physical ability in the world (which lets him go 30/10), but he lacks heart and mental toughness (which is needed to lead teams to titles).

How many times did the mailman get to the finals. Winning one of those yes would have made him a better player historically. Instead he's in the same boat as Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley. Great players that never won a ring, in some instances depsite chasing one with another team.

He went to 4 SB's. Yes winning at least one of those would have made him a better QB historically. Instead he's labeled as the QB of 4 non winning sb teams.
