hey are looking for a reason to strip him of his team, and this is exactly why that provision is in there. IF you give the league a black eye you're out.
That is not what the constitution says though. You have to do some serious contortion to get that out of there.
In your explanation, anything coming out of a persons mouth could be skewed to fit that definition. Mark Cuban complaining about a foul, or even Doc Rivers complaining the other night.
Either words have meaning or they don't. The meaning of the words in the constitution of the NBA do not cover what Sterling did.

he whole point of that clause is to punish people who give the NBA a black eye, and in extreme cases give owners a chance to remove. them.
You contend that this clause then can be used to remove anyone that the commission sees fit, for any reason?
There is a list of items in the constitution that are listed as grounds for such a vote. If you are correct, why list them? Just have a blanket statement that says that if the commissioner feels you have embarrassed the NBA and can get enough votes, he can remove you.
It did not say that.

NO it is for owners to remove people who make the whole league look bad. That would be the point of an owners vote.

You need to learn the difference between exhaustive lists and illustrative lists.

I'm responding to page one. Okay, how long did it take for someone in this thread to acknowledge that LeBron disavows the comment and Mason admits that LeBron didn't say it?
ETA: It is amazing to me that so many posters are, in essence, defending Sterling. On second thought, this is TD. It's not that surprising.
And for all of these posters who are vicariously being the tough guy through Sterling, I've got bad new for you. Sterling is an idiot and a blowhard. He's also borderline senile. Hell, he was pretty much that way back when I owned Clippers season tickets.
If the league wants him out, he will be out eventually, one way or the other.

Making the league look bad is not one of the items listed that allows them to remove Sterling.

This is a constitution, I do believe that when they list reasons that something can or cannot be done, then that is an exhaustive list unless other wise stated.
Would be interesting to see some responses to our debate from some of the legal minds on here.

They wont' do it. Most NBA players live paycheck to paycheck. Lebron doesn't, but a sizable chunk do.
