Lebron: The odds have been stacked against me...

...since I was 5 or 6 years old. What’s he talking about? Such a drama queen.

But I guess that's no big deal.

Didn't he get $80-$90 million from Nike while in high school. That must be nice.

I mean, such a drama queen!!!
quote:
LeBron's mother, Gloria James, was 16 years old when she had LeBron. He never met his father, Michael Wise of the Washington Post reports. They grew up in poverty, and when LeBron's grandmother died when he was 5, the city condemned their house.
Between ages 5 and 8, LeBron moved 12 times, he said in his book.
He told 60 Minutes about that period, "We had pressures as far as where the hell we gonna sleep at. You know, from night, day to day, night to night. How we gonna eat from day to day, night to night?"
LeBron missed 100 days of school in fourth grade because he didn't have the transportation to get there, he told Matt McMillen of WebMD Magazine in 2010.

If Lebron just wouldn’t speak, I could almost like the guy.

Being 6’8” and one of the most elite athletes in the world has given me great adversity, I know where he is coming from

Things may have been difficult from age 6-12, but by junior high he was a celebrity. He’s such a great player. Seems intelligent. But he loves him some him and is very dramatic

Must’ve been incredibly difficult. I’m sure the bankers probably called him racial slurs every time he went to make a deposit. And that’s after dodging cops shooting at him.

TD: 'the downfall in America is due to fatherless kids'
LeBron saying he was against the odds growing up: 'oh stop whining! He's such a drama queen!'

Wasn't his Mom like 12 when she gave birth to him?
LeBron seems pretty well mature and adjusted despite all the scrutiny.
Larry Bird grew up WAY worse than LeBron...Magic actually had a normal childhood. LeBron hasn't had any drama except his publicity stunts.
Like when LeBron keeps doing this safety pin shite and acts like the poster child of fake SJW warriors, he's always going to get shite. Forever. He can never erase that.

He was disadvantaged as a kid. But people generally don't like to hear rich athletes tell them how bad they had it.
I do feel bad about Lebron not having a father figure in his life. If I was in his situation, my absent father would cross my mind numerous times each day.

Growing up in the inner city kn Akron with a single mother. The odds were definitely stacked against him.
But by time he was 13 and 14 he was regularly dunking on people older than him and had all the college/NBA scouts drooling.
He may have had it nad for a little while, but there are a lot more NBA players with much worse stories than him.

If Lebron actually had trouble getting food and adequate nutrition, he would have never made it to 6'8" and as muscular as he is.
Seriously - he has mental illness. I think his fame has produced paranoid narcissism.

It's funny. This thread is like a dick measuring contest. Lebron says he has had the odds stacked against him and he is right. Moving that much as a kid and no father would be a large obstacle foe anyone.
In comes the people hating on him just because he is compared to Jordan saying player x had it worse.

Sure, the odds were stacked against him as a kid by growing up without a father, not knowing where they would live and where they would get food from. But once he started to become really good at basketball, that all changed and he’s had anything he wants at the palm of his hand since.

He's from ohio.
So he's right
So he's right

Thank God, Delonte West came along and became a great father figure for Lebron

He also had to endure that graffiti thing last year.

Did Jordan make these kinds of excuses? Oh no, he didn't lose series.

It goes beyond simple blind irrational hatred to believe a child who grew up near homeless, with drug- addled / absentee convicts as parents had a charmed or lucky childhood.
To believe that child lived a charmed life is borderline sadistic.
