Exactly. If the lakers win another 3 before Kobe retires, Kobe could make a case for the GOAT

Agree...Why is everyone scared to say it? IF you had an all-time team and you had the first draft pick, you would pick LeBron over Jordan.

And I don't even think it is close.

When he shows me six rings I will believe it. Until then, nope.

So this isn't really about you making any intelligent points via posts is it? Nope it's about you spewing garbage.

Of course it is, but you jump to the ring argument when faced with a real response, completely ignoring the fact that Kobe was drafted into a championship dynasty, while LeBron well..

Read the thread topic carefully. "Jim Boheim says LeBron might be better than Jordan"....

I'm aware what Boeheim said, and he's correct

no where doesn't it mention Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard, or the Lakers organization

How many threads that you derail mention the decision, or ring count?

I have seen LeBron shut down Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose in big time playoff series.

I have no memory of the Howard thing. He played Rose for about 6 possesions in that series. Rose was shooting about 20% whoever was guarding him.

He has major problems with Big 4's in the post. All he really can do is front them. He has no prayer if players like Dirk, Gasol, Aldridge etc get the ball in front of him.

In a seven game series if Lebron had to guard Howard, he would own him. Howard wouldn't score a single point.
Never mind that he is giving up size and strength to Howard, but seriously he couldn't guard Howard for an entire playoff series and the Heat have a chance at winning.

Coach K is notorious for playing small ball. Going with 4 guard sets and that sort of thing. It is why a far inferior group of players almost upset Team USA. So in his system he could be a good 5 but I don't think he could be an allstar 5.

The rings argument is not one to be so easily dismissed.

It is pretty easy to dismiss since Championships are a team accomplishment and not an individual one.

Besides Boeheim didn't say LeBron had a better career resume than Jordan. He said he believes he may be a better overall player than Jordan. Those are two different concepts.

Rose was 1-15 when guarded by Lebron in Games 4 and 5 with 3 TOs. So it was slightly more than 6 possessions. This also doesn't include possessions where Rose passed the ball to others. I'd say he did pretty well against him.

Also I'm not sure Gasol's ever even gotten the ball in the low post against LeBron bc he's constantly fronting him very effectively. LeBron may not necessarily be a great low post defender, but he is great at denying the entry pass, which is equally if not more effective because it forces the offense to force a pass or waste time and eventually have to go to a bailout play.

Jordan was much much much better on defense. Absolutly shut down, a top 5 defender all-time easily.

Jordan was a better wing defender than LeBron is, but LeBron was considerably better guarding the 4 and 5. LeBron is also a better rebounder.

It isn't close, but LeBron would go #1. Shaq would go over LeBron.

not by much, compare their rebounding rates in Jordans prime

Bron is hovering around 11.5 range (although he hit 12.6 this year)

Jordan fluctuated between 9.5-10 range for a 2 guard that was pretty damn good.

Let him play at an elite, nonstop competitive level where he wins scoring titles, defensive first teams, and NBA titles damn near every year until 2020, and then we'll talk. For now, Lebron has the potential, but he is not close to surpassing MJ.

Well said --- > an excerpt from a book I'm reading(playing for keeps) which divluges quite a bit of information I didn't know about Jordan BTW ---> 'at one of the early dream team practices in La Jolla CA , Micheal Jordan brought the ball up against his most recent nemesis , Clyde Drexler. Only a few weeks before , the two had dueled in the 1992 NBA Finals. Like MOST NBA players in a situation like this , Jordan did not miss an opportunity to talk some trash as he brought the ball up court. "Didn't I just kick your arse?....Anything here look just a little familiar? Think you can stop me this time Clyde? Better watch out for the threes Clyde "....the coaches noted that every time Jordan guarded Drexler in scrimmages he took the defensive level up more than anyone else. Sorry Kiddos but LeBron ain't there yet.

6 championships with a hiatus to play baseball is greater than 1 with a history of disappearing in big games
