The basic reason for this is simply the money that each of these two bring in, and the revenue of their respective leagues overall. It would be one thing if they were bringing in the same money for their leagues and there was still this massive gap, then this argument might hold some water, but that’s not the case.

You know how every few years a college football team is so good that stupid people with no perspective start asking if they could hand "the worst team in the NFL"?
It could actually happen with the WNBA and "XYZ" college women's team IMO. Still a long shot, but exponentially more likely than Alabama beating The Jaguars last season.
