LeBron should donate all of his money to Sue Bird so they are even. What’s fair is fair, right Lebron?

Also, I need video of Sue Bird getting her ankle rolled up and still finishing a game.

WNBA is a $$$$ loser

It's so bad, that ESPN was going to stop showing games, but in latest CBA, NBA forced espn to continue showing and invest millions into the league.

LOL equal work=equal pay as the ladies like to say

For me that would be like comparing Saddam and whoever the leading ayatollah in Iran was during their war.

don't care, wish they could both be screwed over

In the cities with WNBA teams there are more than enough WOMEN in the area to pack arenas, buy expensive jerseys, and flaunt the newest release line of their favorite WNBA player’s shoe.

If the 50%+ of the Chicago, LA, and NY metro areas who are female decided that the WNBA was “must see tv” - the WNBA would be a financial juggernaut.

If you can’t even get 1-2% of your local women to watch your women’s sport - can you really blame us men for not watching?

I’ll ignore basic economics, popularity, and revenue. This is still a terrible comparison.

LeBron is still playing at an elite level. Sue Bird is well past her prime, and never came close to approaching LeBron’s level in her sport.

Robert Horry played for 16 years and won 7 titles. Should he be have been paid as much as LeBron?

Lebron generates more revenue in one game than her entire league does in a season

They were also comparing top earners in women’s soccer in the US to men in European leagues. It’s a false equivalency. Someone like Messi is going to make a shite ton more than any male counterparts in the MLS too.

it's just a stupid argument period because no one watches womens sports anywhere in the world. They don't have a market value. Their market only exists because it's subsidized.

Easy solution: make the salaries equal. The WNBA (and probably the NBA) will bankrupt immediately and at best the leagues will contract to fewer cities and smaller teams. It’s gonna be great.

You could pay the NBA players the 5 and 6 digit WNBA salaries but just makes the super rich even richer.

Female basketball players can earn good money in Russia if they are good. Diana Taurasi made $1.5 million in 2015. That said, that's because 1) the salaries are subsidized by governments overseas and 2) female basketball is more popular since they don't have as strong of male leagues.

Lol I imagine it is not even close to 10% of what the nba makes.

Just looked it up WNBA makes a whooping 60 million, while the nba made 7.4 billion. WMBA is not even making 1% of what the NBA makes.
