LeBron is able to defend large 4s and point guards at an elite level. That is just fricking sick.

If you were starting a team right now and could pick between Lebron and MJ at 25 years old, who do you pick?

You take MJ.

Is this even a question?

Magic, Hakeem,Jabbar,Shaq,Bird,Russell... Look I think Bron is the BEST athlete to ever dribble a basketball.... But there are things that others do that he can't... Right now he is the best For this era.... Not even close... I laugh at people thinkinh Curry is in the same stratasphere as Bron...

Completely and utterly disagree. You're essentially punishing Lebron for being drafted at 18 years old with that reasoning. Age is undoubtedly the best measure.

I'm not punishing anyone. LBJ got 3 more years of development and coaching and devoted himself full time to basketball to develop his game. MJ didn't get that. Do we just punish MJ for not getting 3 extra years of training with NBA coaching staffs and trainers? Lebron was a millionaire paying for personal training sessions

When LBJ's career ends, they will say "LBJ played XX season in the NBA and won XX titles" exactly like they say about everyone else. Lebron had the choice to go to college for 3 years.

The arguments are insane

This is what makes the age logic acceptable. Guarding 1-5?

How many true 5s are in the NBA today? Honestly, who is the kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, etc that LBJ is having to defend? Frickin Ibaka thinks hes reggie miller now and shooting 3s all the time.

This is what all the Lebron fan boys never get, hes a great player but winning 3 championships by chasing the best free agents in the game around the eastern conference isn't the same as taking a garbage franchise and winning 6 in a row. That's something Jordan would have ever considered. He had more pride than that.

I fully agree. I'm saying that LBJ from 18-21 got better coaching and was able to devote himself full time to the game.

I'm not punishing LeBron when he got better training in those 3 years than MJ did.

I honestly think if MJ goes to the NBA at 18, his career is worse because of it. He wasn't close to ready for the NBA. It wouldn't have been good for his career at all

Totally possible, and Lebron may have flamed out if he had to go to class for 2 years

I just think a comparison at the end of their careers will be based on titles and MVPs, not who came into the league at what age

I agree with this.... His time at UNC was vital to what he was able to do in the NBA... He was held back a bit at INC... Smith ran things a certain way.. But when he got to the NBA he could let it all out....

Lebron better all around, can play more positions, faster, stronger, tougher, good character, etc.

Well one of them invented the 4 corner keep away game in college which doesn't exactly help a guy like MJ with his jumpshot

I was more saying LBJ was able to get more 1 on 1 time since he could devote his life to the sport. It wasn't saying this coach is better than this coach, more that he could hire a professional shooting coach for example for 3 hours a day, or fly out and visit a guru on the post up game
