Stunning, brave, powerful, etc.

quote:

LeBron James is joining forces with several other black athletes and entertainers to found "More Than a Vote," an organization focused on protecting the voting rights of African-Americans.

"Because of everything that's going on, people are finally starting to listen to us - we feel like we're finally getting a foot in the door," the Los Angeles Lakers superstar told Jonathan Martin of The New York Times. "How long is up to us. We don't know. But we feel like we're getting some ears and some attention, and this is the time for us to finally make a difference."

"More Than a Vote" aims to encourage African-Americans to register and vote in November's presidential election.

Is this like the Vote or Die campaign? Anyone remember that?

Maybe I missed something, but when did black folks have their voting rights striped?

Can any resident black people black-splain this to me? Maybe link me to an explanation?

He’a such a great American, despite trying to fake a racism incident. Just trying to start that conversation did so much good, made so much progress.

Really is wild how that story just disappeared. One of the most famous people in the world faked a "hate" crime.

Perhaps you could read the article

James criticized Georgia's voting system Tuesday after a black woman waited three hours to vote in the state's Democratic primary while there was allegedly no line at a predominantly white polling site

At least they are admitting this whole thing is an anti-Trump charade.

All the police abuse happens in Democrat cities, with Democrat mayors and Democrat police chiefs.

Nothing wrong with this. Good for LeBron for encouraging political engagement.

Georgia's primary was a shitshow. They lost 8,000 ballot applications, effed up mail in ballots and didn't have enough workers at the polls on election day.

Heck, GA election officials have apologized and acknowledged mistakes. It's an easy target for LeBron, but it was bad.

Weird. It seems like he only wants certain voices heard. Sounds pretty discriminatory.

People will just rip and downvote LeBron for anything. You wouldn't think encouraging voting would be controversial until LeBron does it.

It's kind of funny in light of the threads complaining about riots that people are mad about LeBron encouraging peaceful voting to create change.

Did anyone buy this? Was there proof of this? Or just one side of the story?
