What health issues? Getting switched to a different position on the scout team is not a health, mental health, or anything like that issue. The kid thought he could spout "mental health" and do whatever he wanted to do, it just didn't work out that way for him.
You obviously didn’t read the entire article. Kid dealt with a concussion, a knee injury and the death of his grandmother among other things that resulted in depression and anxiety.
And no offense, are you a psychologist? Do you have any medical training or experience with mental health? How do you know how a position change - especially for an individual who is already depressed and dealing with the aforementioned issues.
Again, people simply want to believe their narrative about the story that “the problem
Is the young entitled athlete who simply didn’t get his way and cried mental illness” and the “heroic coach called him out for the pussy he is”.
Doesn’t matter if evidence, logic or reason support it.

Think what Kelly did at Notre Dame that got one person killed.

Citing mental health is now something you can no longer question no matter how absurd it is

"Should have" isn't the same as "did". Maybe Kiffin wasn't totally aware of what was happening. And if he did know as much as you claim, then that's even less of a reason for Rollins to blow him off. Kiffin said he wasn't going to make him practice or play a position he didn't want to, so what was Rollins not "ready" to discuss? Two weeks is still a while to ignore someone, whether or not you think it's an exorbitant amount of time.
Thank you for actually arguing on the facts of the issue. I gave you an upvote.
In my post you referenced, i mentioned that Kiffin had met Rollins in mid-February,
So he did know. I believe the article had stated that Kiffin was the one who recommended that Rollins go see the associate AD which he did on February 28.
All the arguments that you make about Rollins taking two weeks to finally talk to Kiffin (assuming the entire two weeks was fully due to him, no conflicts with Kiffin being available) have validity in terms of how a rational person would think. If Rollins was truly in the midst of a depressive issue, then that could have caused it to take that long for him.
The whole point of my posting on this issue is that Rollins has been verified by multiple posters who want the story to fit the narrative that he was “a pussy” who got taken care of by the heroic Kiffin.
The reality, as I think Kiffins media day quote says, is that Kiffin knows he handled
It wrong with his faux old school tough guy stick. He should have treated Rollins like he has a legitimate health issue. That doesn’t mean he can’t cut him from
the team or has to renew his scholarship. Just be the adult.

Kiffin is an a-hole and we as LSU fans should want all bad things for Ole Miss.

Kiffin is the only reason this dude is at Ole Miss. yes, he should’ve contacted the head coach.

We need to get rid of this "student-athlete" College "kid" delusion.
He's a grown man, over 18. Kiffin is your boss and you're an employee... You get fired if you don't show up to work and go ex-communicado in this world.
But College campuses sell an illusion and have a Peter Pan mentality of never growing up and being held accountable.

Their is no reason the player couldn't have called Kiffin after he tried contacting the many times.

No if you do not notify your teacher you get a zero.
This is what people aren’t getting. You don’t get to have issues and then whenever you feel like it ask for accommodations. As a professor, for example, if you ask after the fact, it would not be obligated to provide make up opportunity in this situation. Athlete should get the same treatment.

When did he first tell coaches he was having mental health issues beyond what most athletes go through with injuries and a death in the family?
Ignoring coach’s requests to communicate face to face while also saying coaches ignored his mental health is BS.
The below would be strange especially when making claim about the university. Seems like most universities have some type of set up for students even if not great service. The AD’s Sport psychologist he met with before meeting with Kiffin isn’t there for these specific issues more than likely, but I would think they would be able to help find help. I also don’t the AD person meets with the non-athletic students about issues.
If below is true I am not sure what player expected besides $. Sure coach got pissed because the player thinks he can dictate when to show up and talk, but I would think Rollins would know or not whether he is had to pay for school this semester. I am sure someone in AD advised Kiffin what he had to follow especially with scholarship and more recent NCAA rules about them.

The fact he brought a recorder in really tells you what the angle was all along.
It may be legal in Mississippi, but he did this knowing he had been ignoring Kiffin trying to communicate with him and then ignored the Sports Psychologist asking him to meet with Kiffin earlier in March to set up his own time weeks later. He knew walking in a football coach was going to chew his arse for ignoring his requests and use some choice words. That’s not recording ongoing issue, but much closer to setting up Kiffin.
I don’t even like Kiffin but don’t see anything wrong with what he did or said in what I have read so far.

I do.
And while I sympathize with the kid if he was having mental health issues, you have that conversation with your HC. You have to communicate that you need help and that you need to step away. There’s been other collegiate athletes and professional athletes that have had to do just that.

This is why I'm a huge proponent of the transfer portal. Wouldn't want weasels like Kiffin/ Saban having too much control over these guys College experience.
