I agree he prolly did but the whole family moved and he wasn’t recruited, his family decided that it was best decision for him and the family.

I'm not going to go into details but I'm very close to this situation. I guess depending on your definition of "recruited", you can argue either way. He was "urged" to go to Barbe. LOL!

Since LSU is unlikely to ever comment on this situation, I'll need someone local and familiar to post at some point when the dust has settled and the kid has been quietly dropped to let me know that I can take him off the list.

of course, he was. most of the kids he played with or played against that were high level were going barbe.

i dont consider recruiting to be...hey we have an awesome program, you should think about comign to play for us said in passing. i consider recruiting to be coaches sitting down with the parents and offering them something.

i dont consider a scholarship to a private school as recruiting either as that is just leveling the playign field imo.

not sure how anyone could dislike mrs raissa though unless you just dont like hearing the truth.

That came across wrong. I have nothing against Raissa other than who she’s married to, and who she raised lol. She is blunt but overall she’s a momma and a sweetheart to the boys.

Had a lot of friends growing up say that Cecchini would show up at the after school hangout spots for the SJ Welsh kids "recruiting" them to come to Barbe for baseball. Of course if they're at SJ Welsh already, they were likely attending Barbe so it's a moot point.

But I also feel like it's fair to say that telling a middle schooler they should come to Barbe to play ball is recruiting them.

But like was previously said, winning state titles and getting guys D1 scholarships recruits itself.

Winning is always more important than discipline. C'mon people, get with the program.

No pondering necessary! If Glenn recruits he would have been busted years ago……the number of great players coming from that program has always put the program under the microscope. As stated before, if you want to be the best you have to play with and against the best. Lots of kids have transferred in because they want to play at that level. Their families choose to move to make it possible! Some people move to other schools because they run from that level of competition. Just depends on your make-up

Don’t be naive. East Bank had kids for 3/4 parishes in Little League World Series winner. Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles and St. Tammy. My cousin’s boy played on that team. Those kids could be for all over.

I’m not naive. Little League allows you to play in the district where you attend school even if that school is private, which is probably the case in your example. The example LSU777 gave are public school kids that grew up in the district. I live in the district and know the families of several of kids in the screenshot. They could be from all over, but in this case, they are not.

Both moved when they were like 12. Got a couple families of 11 and 12u kids moving this year so what. Do you think Glenn is hitting up the elementary schools

People want to play with and for the best and right now he is, although Chad is nipping on his heals.

But are families not allowed to move now a days? I mean are people not allowed to love from one town to another without it being recruiting? When is the cut off if your kid plays sports?

If my kid decides he wants to play and take AP classes at barbe, am I allowed move to that district? Do I have to do it in elementary or can I wait until middle school?

Are people no longer allowed to love to the AP to go to the public schools there instead of paying for private? Just wondering where the distinction is because people move from Sulphur to south lake Charles all the time, mainly for same reason I did, south lake Charles is the nicest area in swla and that is where grey wood and the other really nice neighborhoods are, so why wouldn’t I? Plus barbe has a much better AP program. So when does it become recruiting?

And you realize is perfectly fine for someone to get out of zone even if they don’t move, only play JV their freshman year and be eligible rest of the time. Is that not ok for you?

Or you could not be a dumbass and learn the little league districts before spouting off about things you don’t know about. South lake Charles little league doesn’t encompass multiple parishes like east bank and up until last year was strictly south lake Charles and is still pretty dang close to that. Every kid in that area was eligible to go to school at barbe. But yea sure we are the naive ones.

I don't understand why it's a big deal if a kid goes to high school out of district. Orleans Parish high schools (let's just use Brother Martin and Jesuit) get kids from all over - Eastbank JP, Westbank JP, St Charles, St Tammany, etc. It doesn't mean that they were "recruited". If by recruiting, you mean reaching out to kids at camps, showcases, tourneys/leagues, etc then of course. And, if you're not at least toeing the line in "recruiting" then you're losing - and that goes for the schools in general, not just sports. I can say with absolute certainty that most, if not all, cross the line in "recruiting" nowadays at times. I don't know why Barbe would be any different. Not a big deal to me.

Gavin Guidry moved to LC when he was 11. Brody Drost transferred legally and sat out his freshman year to be eligible. Both moved because they wanted to play at Barbe and were not interested in being a part of the politics is SHS.
Also to be fair, both were actually recruited but not by Barbe! They were both called by another high school coach multiple times over multiple weeks to transfer to their school because things were tough at Barbe.

I know the rules. 4 parishes on East Bank. Maybe more. Louque was from Lutcher, pitching for East Bank. It was a super All Star team. JPRD has been breaking the rules forever. The get kicked out of every league they join. My statement is just bc they played LL together doesn’t mean crap. Teams get kicked out of LL all the time for the same reason - super teams from all over.
